What Are The Best Sleep Peptides?

#1 Best Peptide for Sleep: DSIP

Delta Sleep Inducing Peptide, aka DSIP, is a naturally occurring peptide found in various parts of our brain, such as the hypothalamus and pituitary gland (2). DSIP is seen to increase sleep regulation, reduce motor activities to improve deep sleep, stimulate ACTH and LH levels, and is also reported to normalize blood pressure.

After some more modifications, research is hopeful that DSIP can be used to treat conditions such as narcolepsy, high blood pressure, and insomnia (3).

It is advised to inject 0.1 ml of DSIP subcutaneously every day before going to sleep for effective results.

Delta-Sleep Inducing Peptide (DSIP)

Delta sleep-inducing peptide, aka DSIP, is a naturally occurring neuropeptide and was first extracted somewhere between the 1970s and 1980s from the cerebral venous blood of rabbit brain during slow-wave sleep.

DSIP is synthesized in the hypothalamus of the rabbits and then travels down to different target sites inside the central nervous system.

Upon further investigation, scientists were able to locate the areas of the brain, such as the thalamus, cerebral cortex, and cerebellum, for having a maximum concentration of DSIP.

DSIP has the ability to alter the serum levels of some hormones, such as corticotropin, somatostatin, serotonin, etc.

#2 Best Peptide for Sleep: Epitalon

Epitalon is often considered the fountain of youth owing to its anti-aging properties. It is a synthetic version of Epithalamin produced by the pineal gland. The peptide helps regulate T-cells alongside boosting your neuroendocrine system.

However, it is more interesting because it helps regulate sleep patterns, prompting deep sleep (4). However, its mechanism of action is still a work in progress. It somehow interferes with the pineal gland that regulates the sleep-wake cycle.

It is advised to use 10 mg of Epitalon per day.

Epitalon Summary

Epitalon

Epitalon, also commonly known as Epithalon peptide or Epithalone is a synthetic tetrapeptide with four amino acids in its structure.

This synthetic peptide was originally discovered by Russian scientist Vladimir Khavinson. Since then most of the clinical studies centered around Epitalon were carried out at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology.

Epitalon is a synthetic telomerase activator enzyme that upregulates the synthesis of telomerase enzyme by the pineal gland. Thus, telomeres at the end of chromosomes are renewed and more telomeres are available at the tips of DNA strands even after a cell divides repeatedly.

Besides, Epitalon treatment also stimulates melatonin production as well as regulates its secretion. This helps restore normal circadian rhythm as melatonin secretion is a critical chemical that balances the sleep/wake cycle.

Some human clinical studies also suggest that this synthetic pineal peptide Epitalon also modulates the blood levels of gonadotropins.

#3 Best Peptide for Sleep: Sermorelin

Sermorelin is a human growth hormone-stimulating peptide that works best at night (5). The peptide makes sure to improve overall health by enhancing healthy sleeping habits. Other advantages of Sermorelin include increased muscle mass, improved libido, and rapid recovery.

It is recommended to administer 0.2-0.3 mcg once daily at bedtime through subcutaneous injections.

Sermorelin Summary

Sermorelin

Sermorelin, an acetate salt, is a synthetic peptide containing 29 Amino acids. This artificial peptide (GRF 1-29 NH2) mimics the action of naturally occurring growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) composed of 44 Amino acid residues.

The growth hormone-releasing hormone receptors (GHRHr) are located in the anterior pituitary gland. Sermorelin binds with these receptors to trigger the increased production and secretion of growth hormone (GH) by somatotroph cells.

As feedback mechanisms maintain the hormonal levels, the increased serum concentration of growth hormone (GH) stimulates another endogenous hormone called somatostatin, also known as growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH).

Growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH) initiates a negative feedback mechanism to stop the secretion of any more growth hormone (GH) by the somatotroph cells so that hormonal levels donโ€™t overshoot.

Thus, sermorelin makes sure to keep the entire homeostatic coordination of the hypothalamus-pituitary-somatostatin intact.

Apart from this, sermorelin also improves the sleep-related circadian rhythm by reducing the production of stress hormones. This further amplifies the release of growth hormone (GH).

#4 Best Peptide for Sleep: AOD 9604

AOD 9604 is primarily a synthetic fragment of human growth hormone. Due to its ability to increase lipolysis and decrease lipogenesis, AOD 9604 is often known as an anti-obesity drug.

However, the drug improves cognitive and mental stresses, enhancing sleep (6). AOD 9604 helps stabilize the metabolism and boosts recovery significantly while the body is asleep and resting.

A dose of 0.25 mg to 1 mg for 12 weeks is reportedly effective when supplementing with AOD9604.

ADO 9604 Summary

AOD 9604

Losing excessive body weight and getting rid of obesity has just become much easier with the introduction of AOD9604 in the market.

AOD9604 is a synthetic fragment of the human growth hormone (HGH) C-terminus (176-191). This hexadecapeptide has shown remarkable effects on fat metabolism by upregulating lipolysis and inhibiting lipogenesis.

AOD9604 targets fat-rich areas and promotes fat breakdown without disturbing the overall metabolic profile.

AOD9604 was well advocated as an anti-obesity medication in the past as it cuts down fat deposition. Perhaps this was confirmed in one of the clinical trials taking place in Australia, where nearly 300 obese individuals experienced weight loss.

Besides, AOD9604 doesn’t affect IGF-1 and insulin levels, thus ensuring minimal risk of developing glucose intolerance and diabetes mellitus. With AOD9604, you don’t have to worry about hypercholesterolemia as well!

The good news is that AOD9604 is an FDA-approved drug as an anti-obesity drug, so you don’t have to worry about adverse effects at all. All you can expect is mild headaches, indigestion, nausea, swelling, etc.

AOD9604 can really be your go-to therapy for weight loss but make sure to use it at the proper dosages, or else a disturbed metabolic profile awaits you!

What are Peptides?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that lead to the formation of proteins. These peptides are based on the unique arrangement and sequencing of different amino acids. This results in varying functions for each peptide. It was 1921 when the first peptide insulin was developed. This was soon followed by numerous other synthetic peptides knocking off the markets.

These peptides are thought to interact with the proteins found in the human body. This leads to the regulation of various physiological processes in the body.

How Do Peptides for Sleep Work?

It is important to be aware of the working mechanism of these peptides to know exactly how they bring about their effects on the human body.

However, when it comes to sleep peptides, it’s quite difficult to get our heads around them. Due to sleep peptides being an under-researched area, the mechanism of action is unclear. Nonetheless, it is reported that most of the peptides, being a growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) stimulator, promote slow wave sleep (SWS) during the night. In fact, the first SWS period is associated with a Growth Hormone (GH) surge as a result of excessive GHRH stimulation.

Benefits of Sleep Peptides

When it comes to peptides, your body is all set to gain numerous benefits and next to no side effects. Peptides promote the synthesis of proteins crucial for our bodies’ normal functioning. However, with sleep peptides, you’ve got some additional peptides up your sleeve.

Through sleep peptides, you can improve your regular sleeping habits. Healthy sleep is cardinal regarding the optimum functioning of the human brain.

If you’re traveling to another country with entirely different time zones, you would want to carry a sleep peptide to tackle jet lag.

It is also believed that specific peptides, such as Deep Sleep Inducing Peptide, aka DSIP, can help alleviate chronic pain scenarios, stress, and alcohol or drug withdrawal.

DSIP is also thought to be a revolutionary treatment for narcolepsy and insomnia.

Ah, this one’s a bit difficult to answer since each peptide is thought to work differently in our bodies with a varying range of benefits and, of course, accompanied by specific side effects. Therefore, the legality of peptides differs.

Nevertheless, the peptides with hormonal components associated with them can only be used via a doctor’s prescription and are completely prohibited from over-the-counter self-medication by the FDA. However, about 239 therapeutic peptides are approved by FDA for clinical purposes.

Who Should Use Sleep Peptides?

Peptides are comparatively safer options when it comes to supplements. Even so, it is recommended to start with peptides as early as your 20s. With early intervention, your body can work more effectively from an early age.

The best part of sleep peptides? They don’t pose any harmful side effects associated with them at all. That said, one can quickly go ahead with sleep peptide supplementation without worrying about their health.

Forms of Sleep Peptides

Most sleep peptides usually come from intravenous injections due to rapid absorption. You may also find these peptides in the form of pills or capsules. Significantly, the dose of each form can differ, so do look out for it.

Are Sleep Peptides Legit?

With everything said above, it would be naive to think that sleep peptides are all talk and no work. While not many peptides induce sleep effects directly, the indirect effects of peptides on sleep are revolutionary, for sure. They’re probably the next revolutionary solution in treating sleep disorders.

Peptides are entirely safe to supplement with, with very few side effects that don’t last long. However, it is essential to get in touch with your doctor to ensure you’re not allergic and sort out the routine dosage of your sleep peptide.

Do peptides improve sleep?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids that are better absorbed than long proteins. These peptides are seen to improve muscle mass, body fat, and the sleep cycle.

How long does it take for DSIP to work?

DSIP is reported to increase sleep within 130 minutes.

Are sleep peptides legal?

Sleep or other peptides with hormonal components can only be purchased through a doctor’s prescription. Peptides can also be purchased as “research chemicals”.

Which peptide is best for sleep?

DSIP is considered to be one of the best sleep-promoting peptides.

I just started CJC 1295 and Ipamorelin. I start to feel drowsy almost immediately after taking them. I fall asleep fast. I still wake up to go to the bathroom, but I usually get 3-4 hours sleep before that happens. Then I fall back asleep. Next thing I know, it is 5:30 AM, so I am getting another 3-4 hours. However, I am experiencing hangover effects, along with some dizziness, which doesn’t help when I got to train at 7:30 AM.
