Hexarelin Review

Hexarelin belongs to the class of growth hormone secretagogue (GHS) that binds strongly to the receptors and triggers the release of growth hormone (GH) along with offering prospective benefits to cardiovascular and musculoskeletal strength.

Class of Compound

PEPTIDE

Mechanism of Action

Hexarelin mimics the action of a naturally occurring hormone, ghrelin and binds with growth hormone secretagogue receptors (GHSR-1a) located in hippocampus as well as in peripheral organs such as heart, digestive tract and adrenal gland. This binding initiates a signaling pathway leading to amplified release of growth hormone (GH). Hexarelin also inhibits the release of somatostatin which is a growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH).

Chemical Structure

When you hear the word ‘peptides,’ the first idea that pops into your mind is about physical fitness. You often imagine muscle building, fat loss, flexible joints, strong bones, and especially swift recovery from injuries.

This holds somewhat true because we usually see fitness pros, athletes and gym-doers consume peptides and other supplements.

But with the growing research focused on 3-dimensional usage of peptides, more people are interested in exploring the new peptides.

Thus, Hexarelin is one such synthetic multi-tasking peptide. The clinical trials based on rats show prospective benefits on cardiovascular health as well as enhanced fitness regimes.

Here, I’ll provide my own opinion of this peptide based on my research and understanding of peptides. I’ve also included other users’ experiences to provide an unbiased approach on this topic. So, let’s dig into it!

What Is Hexarelin

Hexarelin Acetate, also alternatively known as examorelin, is a small synthetic peptide that belongs to the growth hormone secretagogue class (GHS) (1,2).

It is composed of just six amino acids. The chemical sequence of this growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP) is His-D-2-methyl-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. Being highly compact in structure makes it more stable as well as effective in terms of its functioning in the body.

How Does Hexarelin Work

The primary function of hexarelin is to trigger the release of growth hormone from the anterior pituitary gland. Hexarelin follows multiple courses of action to achieve this purpose.

Hexarelin mimics the action of a naturally occurring hormone called ghrelin. Ghrelin is mainly synthesized in the stomach, and it travels via the bloodstream to bind with the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) located in the hippocampus.

This subsequent binding stimulates a wide array of physiological pathways such as the release of growth hormone (GH), protecting cardiomyocytes, regulating body weight, and developing the musculoskeletal system.

Hexarelin also binds with growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) (3) similar to ghrelin to initiate a phospholipid-dependent protein kinase (PKC) signaling pathway (1). This leads to the amplified release of growth hormone (GH) due to the coordinated action of the hypothalamus as well as the pituitary gland.

Hexarelin is also known to limit the release of somatostatin, also sometimes referred to as growth hormone-inhibiting hormone (GHIH). This leads to higher serum levels of growth hormone (GH).

The availability of growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a) in the peripheral organs like the heart, bones, adrenal gland, and digestive tract means that hexarelin can also trigger a localized effect. Particularly, the binding of hexarelin with cardiac receptors called CD36 (3) is a growing area of research.

Hexarelin stimulates other endocrine pathways such as ACTH to cause the release of prolactin as well as cortisol.

Benefits Of Hexarelin

As a growth hormone-releasing peptide (GHRP), hexarelin ensures an organic growth hormone release (GH).

Hexarelin stimulates the growth of new muscle fibers. This leads to the development of lean muscle mass by bulking up of muscles as well as enhancing body strength.

As hexarelin binds to the CD36 receptors located on blood cells, it greatly improves cardiovascular functioning by maintaining the normal cardiac parameters such as left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), cardiac output, stroke volume, and decreasing the peripheral resistance in the blood vessels (3).

This helps athletes meet the physical realms needed to boost their overall performance.

Hexarelin induced release of growth hormone (GH) also burns down body fat, thereby causing weight loss.

This peptide improves overall skeletal health. This is done by making joints more flexible and making tendons, joints, and ligaments grow healthy. Hexarelin stimulates the growth of new muscle fibers. This leads to the growth of lean muscle mass by bulking up of muscles as well as enhancing body strength (4).

This musculoskeletal growth makes the individual more resistant to injuries.

The optimal release of growth hormone due to hexarelin causes growth and proliferation around wounds and injuries so that the recovery process is quick yet effective.

Besides, hexarelin is also hypothesized to improve sleep quality to considerable levels by setting up the natural sleep rhythms.

Is Hexarelin Legal

No, it’s not!

Hexarelin is not tested on humans yet. All the studies have been animal-based, due to which WADA hasn’t legalized hexarelin.

Who Should Use Hexarelin

Owing to the tremendous effects observed in cardiovascular health, anybody with a past history of cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial infarctions and arrhythmias can take hexarelin. This is because hexarelin is seen to minimize fibrous accumulation.

Bodybuilders aiming to build up muscles can also take hexarelin. Anyone wishing to have a quicker recovery process can also take hexarelin.

Athletes wishing to boost their performance in their respective games can consider hexarelin usage after seeing all the benefits.

How To Use Hexarelin

Just like most other peptides, hexarelin is also available as a dry powder in the vial (a glass container). Once you have purchased hexarelin, you need to mix it with bacteriostatic water, depending on your dosage guidelines.

You need to inject it subcutaneously, inserting the needle just under the skin and not in the muscle. Generally, the abdominal area is seen as an ideal place to inject it. Subcutaneous injection of hexarelin is seen to achieve maximum effects on the user.

If you are afraid of needles, you can take hexarelin orally as well, with the surety of experiencing similar benefits like a subcutaneous injection.

Forms Of Hexarelin

Hormonal therapies are usually more effective in injectable forms (5). So, I would personally recommend taking the injectable form.

When you make a purchase, you will get a vial in which there will be hexarelin powder. The powder, once mixed with the sterile water, will give you the injectable form ready.

Surprisingly, hexarelin tablets are also available at some stores. This makes hexarelin more user-friendly as a wide variety of people can consume hexarelin.

Hexarelin Dosage

Being illegal means that there exist no set guidelines for the users but considering all the medical research done so far, an ideal dosage is devised.

200mcg-300mcg is advised to be the daily intake of an individual (4). The optimal results are often seen in people who administer hexarelin subcutaneously 2-3 times a day, with each dose comprising approximately 100mcg.

Small administrations are often advised because this stimulates the release of growth hormone (GH) at more frequent intervals. Hence, this sets up a natural timer within a short period.

If you are taking hexarelin orally, you can take two tablets in a day, with each around 200mcg.

One of the important interpretations from the existing research on hexarelin is that a higher dosage doesn’t seem to impact you significantly.

Hexarelin Cycling

To see optimal results, avoid eating anything before and after 1 hour of hexarelin administration.

Hexarelin is generally consumed for straight 12 to 16 weeks. Prominent benefits such as muscle building, fat loss, and quick recoveries are usually achieved during this period.

Once one cycle is complete, take a break of 25 to 30 days. You may start your new cycle for approximately 3 months to maintain the physical changes that the peptide helped you to achieve.

Hexarelin Stacking

Since the studies so far have only been rat-based, not enough information exists as to whether hexarelin should be stacked with other peptides for enhanced effects.

But considering the similar dosage guidelines and benefits that Modified GRF1-29 offers (6), such as lean muscle growth, flexible joints, strong tendons, and quicker wound healing, some companies have started selling Modified GRF 1-29 5mg and hexarelin 5mg (10mg total blend).

Ipamorelin (7), another quite similar peptide in structure, can also be stacked with hexarelin as both follow a similar course of action.

What I think is this area of study needs extra research to know exactly whether stacking hexarelin will be beneficial in a significant way or not.

At this point, it all narrows down to your decision-making after considering all the facts.

Hexarelin Reviews

Unlike other peptides which are substantially used by people, hexarelin isn’t one of them. As it is not legalized yet, only a handful of anonymous reviews were available on discussion platforms like Reddit.

JoshuaMei used hexarelin, modified GRF 1-29, and ipamorelin and gave a detailed insight about his cycles. Let me cut the slack for you and get to the point,

“During the 2nd week, his sleep got much deep and free of distractions. In the 3rd week, the nails starting really well. During days 17 and 21, workout recovery was much faster. After day 21, some fat loss was also experienced.”

Sloppy Chauncy 426 says,

“I’m currently running a cycle of Ipamorelin, hexarelin, mod grf and GHRP 6 all at 100 mcg 2x/d and so far, so good! Love being able to just pig out like I got the munchies lol and not think twice about it.”

Hexarelin Side Effects

Although hexarelin doesn’t show any severe side effects because it mainly works in an organic way, one needs to consider the slightest of dangers as it concerns one’s own health.

As discussed earlier, hexarelin influences multiple endocrine pathways, so most of its side effects (8) include higher cortisol levels, increased prolactin levels, and insulin desensitization. Low libido is also a common complaint by users of hexarelin.

A feeling of fatigue and lethargy is also experienced.

An anatomical lesion called carpal tunnel syndrome is also a common complaint by the users. Besides, a feeling of numbness in the hands and feet is also experienced.

Hexarelin vs other peptides

Hexarelin vs Ipamorelin

While the mechanism of action and primary benefits for both peptides are quite similar, the difference arises in the secondary benefits. Ipamorelin is proven to improve bone density, while hexarelin enhances cardiovascular health.

Another difference is the forms of peptides available. Ipamorelin is available in injectable forms only, while hexarelin can be purchased in tablet form.

I can conclude from the animal-based research models that the synergistic effect of both peptides will definitely be better.

Hexarelin vs GHRP-6

These both peptides function in the same way. However, GHRP-6 (9) doesn’t easily stimulate other neuroendocrine pathways like hexarelin.

In terms of potency, GHRP-6 has a relatively shorter half-life to work in the body than hexarelin. Therefore, hexarelin wins the race against GHRP-6 for sure!

Is Hexarelin legit?

Okay, so this might be tricky!

Considering all the prospective benefits from the research studies so far, hexarelin gets the credit for being real.

From giving cardioprotective incentives to musculoskeletal strength, it is a multi-tasking peptide that can beat many other peptides in the future if the research is more focused on human-based trials.
