So true! When I was in Pittsburgh training with Ryan Celli I used the monolift quite frequently, but still made sure to walk out sometimes.

It definitely lowers my squat total though, but just something you gotta accept.

There are a group of very good powerlifters down in Rock Hill. They are putting on the APF Summer Heat meet in a few weeks. Should check it out if you have time.

Hey Ravi,

No it isn't a deload week, it is just the way my program is structured.

For my main lifts I use a wave metho that goes like that

Week 1: 60% of 1 RM, 3 sets of 8 with the last set being as many reps as possible
Week 2: 70% of 1 RM, 3 sets of 5 with the last set being as many reps as possible
Week 3: 80% of 1 RM, 3 sets of 3 with the first set being as many reps as possible
Week 4: 90% of 1 RM, 3 sets of 1 with the first set being as many reps as possible

Then I will adjust my numbers for the next cycle based off the number of reps I get on my 4th week lifts. It is a hybrid style of training, but it works on getting my strength up without putting the strain of heavy lifting on my body week in and week out.

I also cycle my supplemental lfits with three different rotations in this order:

2-3 sets of 15-20 reps
3-4 sets of 8-10 reps
4-5 sets of 4-6 reps

Again varying the reps schemes to allow me to maximize my gains on my supplemental lifts for as long as possible.

That's why you see the frequent changes in my weights/reps for all my lifts.

Love the layout of that program. Did you pick that up somewhere or create it yourself?

Steve,

My schedule is pretty much a bastardized version of everything I have tried and learned from experience and reading. Though my programming is very similar to a relatively new training method called GST (Growth Stimulus Training). Some of the things that I do are very different than what is recommended with that programming.

I have taken tips from the creator of that method, but I was doing that style of training before he put it out. I have traces of Westside with what I am doing, as well as 5/3/1 etc etc. It is just what works for me!
