During a bulk, people tend to gain as much size as possible; gaining a combination of muscle and fat. This is then followed by a cut, where the aim is to burn fat, whilst retaining the muscle they gained from the bulk.
A bodybuilder must make many sacrifices when undergoing these 2 different phases.
When bulking, one must be willing to gain fat in order to add extra muscle. And when cutting, one must be ready to be hungry and irritable at times in their quest for six-pack abs.
Although it’s not easy, there ARE ways to build muscle and burn fat at the same time, helping you get jacked without getting fat.
…And helping you burn fat without having to worry about losing muscle.
One of the best ways to build muscle and burn fat simultaneously is to take specific steroids that have anabolic AND fat-burning properties.
Generally, steroids will either help you build muscle OR burn fat. However, there a few which do both equally as well.
In this article I’m going to list the steroids that can do this, helping you transform your body dramatically; meaning you won’t ever have to bulk or cut again.
Best Steroids to Build Muscle

Trenbolone is generally used when bulking because it’s one of the best steroids you can take to build muscle. However, it’s also very effective during a cut because it’s also an effective fat burner.
Generally, Tren’s muscle-building attributes outweigh its fat-burning effects, but nonetheless, it can do both.
It’s common for experienced bodybuilders to gain 10lbs from a trenbolone cycle, which is exceptional considering the weight you’ll gain from tren will be virtually all muscle.
Also if you’re taking trenbolone you won’t be new to steroids, because of the severity of the compound. Thus you would’ve taken several steroid cycles before.
By this point, you would’ve almost plateaued and thus a gain of 10lbs is very impressive. If a beginner were to take tren (which isn’t recommended), they’re likely to gain 2-3x this amount of muscle.
Trenbolone users are usually easy to detect, as they typically have exceptionally developed trapezius and deltoid muscles.
There are more androgenic receptors in these muscles, and thus when you take a particularly androgenic steroid, like trenbolone; they tend to blow up in size.
Therefore guys who have 3D shoulders and cobra-looking traps are likely to be cycling tren.
Tren also has diuretic properties, so it’ll make you look more shredded than usual when on-cycle (due to less extracellular water retention).
Trenbolone side effects:
- Oily skin

- Hair loss (on the scalp)

- Excess sweating
Trenbolone has a very high anabolic/androgenic rating of 500, thus tren will produce the normal side effects of AAS, but with more severity.
Therefore, trenbolone isn’t recommended for beginners due to the harshness of this steroid.
Trenbolone doesn’t convert into estrogen, however, it can still cause gyno (man boobs), which comes as a surprise to some users.
Tren can cause this due to it increasing prolactin levels, via stimulation of the pituitary gland. Estrogen and prolactin receptors are found in breast tissue, and thus a rise in either of these hormones can (in theory) cause gynecomastia.
Trenbolone acetate is almost universally regarded as the most potent steroid to pack muscle mass onto the human body.
As well as its ability to get you massive, Tren Ace also does not cause water retention, will not convert to estrogen, and lowers cortisol levels, which will help you to lose body fat.
Trenbolone Acetate is often referred to as ‘Fin’ because its original brand name was Finaplex H Tablets. It is the shortest ester version with a half-life of 3 days.
As a result, it gets absorbed faster than Trenbolone Enanthate. It is also excreted from the system faster.
This combination will give you quicker results and more side effects. However, it also means that you will have to inject it more frequently, with injections every other day during your cycle.
Trenbolone enanthate is the longer version of the drug, meaning that it has a longer half-life.
As a result, you will not have to inject it so frequently. However, it is not as potent as Tren Ace.
Enanthate has a half-life of 10-12 days. It has fewer side effects than acetate.
It is the most popular version of Tren that is used during cutting cycles.
Trenbolone hexahydrobenzylcarbonate is the longest trenbolone ester.
It has a half-life of about 14 days. It is sold under the trade name Parabolan.
Because it is released slowly into your system, Tren Hexa is more able to be tolerated than either enanthate or acetate.
Even though it is not as quick-acting, many people find Tren Hexa to be more potent in the long run in terms of its ability to build mass and strength while stripping off body fat.
Dosage: 200mg-500mg per week; with cycles lasting 8-12 weeks.

Like trenbolone, Winstrol also has diuretic effects – causing you to lose water weight and ‘dry’ you out. This is perfect for those trying to get shredded as less water = more muscle definition.
Winstrol is a great fat burner and because of this, it’s a popular cutting steroid.
However, Winstrol is also one of the best cutting compounds when it comes to building muscle; as it’s still a very anabolic steroid.

Testosterone Propionate has a fast-acting, short ester.
Its half-life is far shorter than the previous two versions we have looked at, being just 48 hours.
As a result of this short half-life, Testosterone Propionate needs to be administered every other day during a cycle. Although the effects that you get from Testosterone Propionate are similar to other forms, you will get less water retention with this form.

- Week Three: Testosterone Enanthate – 600 mg per week (split into 3 doses)

Not officially a steroid, however HGH is a worthy mention.
HGH has only just come to the fore in the last 30 years. As a result, many bodybuilders are bigger than ever before; whilst being more ripped than they’ve ever been.
Combining insulin with human growth hormone is thought to be the culprit of the infamous steroid gut that we see in many professional bodybuilders today. HGH by itself may cause this protruding-stomach effect, due to it enlarging your organs (including the intestines).
However, combining it with insulin is thought to exacerbate this adverse effect.
If your goal is to take steroids and keep a tiny waist, you’re unlikely to achieve this whilst taking HGH, especially with the presence of insulin.
Human growth hormone is also a relatively healthy compound to take (unless you abuse it), as your body’s natural HGH production declines as you grow older; making it effective for anti-aging and boosting collagen in the skin.

Dianabol and legal alternatives
Otherwise known as D-Bol for short. Dianabol is the king of bulking steroids and is without doubt the most talked about anabolic on the planet. This is because nothing quite compares to D-Bol in terms of the amount of strength/muscle you can gain on cycle.
D-Bol is a very, very powerful steroid and is capable of turning a skinny beanpole into a beast of a man. Arnold also admitted to taking D-Bol to aid muscle growth and many people believe he was the greatest bodybuilder that’s ever lived.
The only drawbacks with Dianabol is that it does come with some water retention that is dependent upon the dose. Arnold took this steroid back in the 70’s and he didn’t look like he was holding much water so this does depend on the individual person. Also D-bol has the potential to elevate your blood pressure temporarily, however this will regulate back to normal post cycle.
Anadrol and legal alternatives
Anadrol isn’t talked about too much, but in terms of seeing huge gains in size and strength – it’s only second best to D-Bol. This isn’t too surprising seeing as Anadrol is a very similar compound to D-Bol, with it being a DHT-derivative.
You can expect to gain as much as 30lbs from just a 4 week cycle of Anadrol. This weight will be made up of lean muscle tissue and water. Trenbolone and legal alternatives
Trenbolone is a modified compound of nandrolone (otherwise known as deca durabolin). With tren having anabolic and androgenic scores of 500, it’s no surprise that tren is rated as one of the strongest anabolic steroids of all time.
Expect for your testosterone and IGF-1 levels to go through the roof on trenbolone. IGF-1 stands for insulin-like growth factor which is a powerful muscle building hormone.
Tren will also provoke a HEFTY spike in protein synthesis, giving your muscles a positive nitrogen balance, promoting further muscle growth.

STACK for More Gains

Bodybuilders often stack testosterone and trenbolone together for 8 weeks, which almost always results in exceptional muscle gains; and considerable fat loss.
You can stack HGH with testosterone or/and Winstrol; however, you can run HGH for several months at a time.
Whereas Winstrol shouldn’t be cycled for longer than 8 weeks. HGH is typically pretty expensive, so if you want cost-efficient gains, you may want to opt for another compound.
Stacking any of these steroids together will increase lean muscle mass, and decrease body fat significantly. However, you should take your time and consider whether the side effects are worth it in order to experience the gains you’re after.

Although Anavar isn’t excessively anabolic in nature, it does cause a significant increase in strength due to its positive effect on DHT levels; so if more strength is your objective, throwing Anavar into the mix will almost certainly help you hit new PR’s.
Dianabol is famous for its sheer power when it comes to packing on muscle and increasing strength. If your objective is to build more muscle than to burn fat; adding Dianabol into your stack can help you do just that.
You won’t burn a noticeable amount of fat if you take Dianabol by itself; but if you’re taking testosterone and Anavar, then you throw Dbol into the equation, you’ll build a significant amount of muscle and burn some fat.
Dianabol isn’t the steroid for you if you want to look ripped, as it will cause your muscles to look smooth, instead of dry and grainy. However, it’s arguably the best compound you can take to build muscle (in the world).

Drink one gallon of milk each day. This is addition to your normal eating. Eat healthy, and eat often.
And perform phase 1 training….
Phase 1 training involves 3 weeks of pushing yourself, followed by a week of de-loading. De-loading will involve using the same weight as you performed on your last workout prior to de-loading, but performing less sets and reps.
Perform this 4 week cycle of load/de-loading 3 times, which will equal 84 days of training. Proceed to take the next 6 days. Eat and rest during this time.
Squat, 4 sets x 5 reps
Bench Press, 4 sets x 6 reps
DB Rows, 4 sets x 6 reps
Front Squat, 4 sets x 5 reps
Military Press, 4 sets x 6 reps
Deadlifts, 4 sets x 3 reps
Squat, 4 sets x 5 reps
Bench Press, 4 sets x 6 reps
DB Rows, 4 sets x 6 reps
PHASE 1 De-Load: MONDAY
Squat, 3 sets x 3 reps
Bench Press, 3 sets x 4 reps

1) Don’t mess with the exercises. You can replace seated DB presses instead of barbell presses, and barbell rows for DB rows, but that’s it. This program is designed to get you as big as possible using heavy compound exercises.
2) Forget isolation exercises. You DO NOT need to perform flyes, cable cross-overs, dumbbell pullovers, side or front laterals, etc. These exercises might give you a good pump, but they are absolutely useless for mass and strength. Arnold/Dorian/Lee/Jay did not build mass by doing flyes ad nauseum.
3) Warm-up. ‘Nuff said. You MUST do several warm-up sets for bench, squat, deadlift, etc, before your working sets. You need not necessarily do more than one warm-up sets for other exercises. For example, I do several warm-up sets for bench press, but only one for incline bench press, and none for DB bench press. Use your own judgment. Once your body is warmed up, you don’t have to kill it with warm-up sets unless the exercise is brutally heavy.
4) Follow the one hour rule. Including warm-ups, the workout in Phase 1 should not take more than 1 hour. Your training should not, under any circumstances, take longer than an hour. Watch your rest times. It is OK to take 3-5 minutes between heavy, heart-pounding sets, but it is not OK to rest 5 minutes between each set of DB Rows. Watch yourself.
5) Progress. You MUST, MUST, MUST push yourself for more reps and/or more weight from workout to workout, excluding your de-load weeks. No excuses.
6) Rep ceilings. When the workout calls for 4 sets x 6 reps, you TRY to perform this with a given weight. And when you CAN perform 4 sets x 6 sets, move up in weight. ALWAYS! For example, let’s say on Monday you performed bench presses with 200 pounds. For the first two sets you hit 6 reps, but on the third set you could only hit 5 reps, and on the last set you dropped to 4 reps. No problem! The goal is not necessarily to hit 6 reps for all 4 sets each workout. BUT, when you DO hit 4 sets of 6 reps with 200 pounds, move up to 205 or 210 pounds on your next bench press workout. NO EXCEPTIONS! When you hit the rep ceiling, move up in weight.
7) Bodybuilding Magazines and Websites. Ignore this crap. You can buy the magazines for entertainment, but don’t fall into their traps. Most of them exist to peddle supplements, or promote their drug-gorged superstars.
8) Supplements. Stick to protein powders, multi-vitamin/minerals, and cycling creatine. Glutamine is also good, but if you have a life outside of weight lifting, save your money for other earthly pleasures. There are a billion supplements in the market, all claiming to have the capability to pack on 25 pounds of mass in 90 days. They even have studies to prove their claims. Most of these claims and studies are bunk! If they weren’t, any Joe Blow would be able to lay down $200 a month and look like the Incredible Hulk in 6 months.
9) Injuries. Injuries happen. But they happen less when you DO NOT sacrifice form for weight. Always try to lift the most weight with the BEST form. No exceptions. If you do get injured, heal before you hit the weights hard and heavy again.
10) Stick to a program. Listen, there are a billion programs on the Internet. Pick one, and stick to it. But remember, lifting newbies DO NOT need to rest a huge amount of days between workouts. And complex programs and NOT better. Simple and heavy works best.
