Mechanism of Action
Hexarelin mimics the action of a naturally occurring hormone, ghrelin and binds with growth hormone secretagogue receptors (GHSR-1a) located in hippocampus as well as in peripheral organs such as heart, digestive tract and adrenal gland. This binding leads to an amplified release of growth hormone (GH). Hexarelin also inhibits the release of somatostatin which is a growth hormone inhibiting hormone (GHIH).
