Our Experiment with Naked Nutrition

naked nutrition review

We decided to test out some of Naked’s products ourselves and were sent Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder, Creatine Monohydrate, Energy, and Greens Superfood Powder.

Overall, these products were incredibly pure and high-quality, however, most of these products had a bland taste and powdery texture which was due to them being unflavored as well as containing only clean, whole-food ingredients.

We would only recommend their energy and whey for those that have a good flavor substitute. While the idea of eating pure, untarnished supplements from the teet of mother earth herself is a great idea. Honestly it kind of tastes like baking flour.

We’ll now take a closer look at each of the 4 products that we tried and discuss our overall perspective on each with the overall taste, quality, and perceived health benefits.

Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder

naked nutrition review
This is my post workout smoothie these days, Naked Whey + Creatine with bananas and nuts thrown in for flavor.

One of the major products we tried from Naked was Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder. This product was derived from grass-fed cattle which lead to the product being free from harmful hormones and unnecessary additives.

We loved that this product came loaded with essential amino acids and clean protein, with each serving offering 25 grams of protein and 5.9 grams of BCAAs. However, this product was not very sweet, and somewhat bland which was expected since the only ingredient contained in this product was whey protein concentrate. It also took slightly longer to mix in a shaker cup since it was free of additives that reduce viscosity.

Something that we found interesting about this product was that the tub which contained this powder was completely transparent, unlike similar products from competitor brand, it’s a sweet look.

Additionally, the powder was not as thick as most brands and although it was somewhat difficult to mix at first it ended up being easier to drink with water or when combined with other ingredients. Finally, this product was much easier to digest when compared to other brands of whey protein.

Altogether, Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder by Naked was clean, easy-to-digest, and easy to mix with other ingredients, making it the ideal choice for a pre-workout shake and source of protein to add along with other meals. It was also extremely pure and worth the extra money when compared to other brands that use cheaper ingredients, including artificial flavors and sweeteners.

Creatine Monohydrate Powder

Our favorite creatine we’ve tried so far.

The second product we tried from Naked was Creatine Monohydrate Powder. This product contained solely pure creatine monohydrate and was free of artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors.

Overall, this product offered amazing benefits in respect to increases in power output, overall strength, and higher intensity while training. On the downsize it was incredibly powdery in texture.

On a positive note, we noticed that it mixed extremely well with the grass-fed whey protein concentrate and we typically combined the two products prior to training in order to better digest the creatine and make a better overall pre-workout shake.

Altogether, this product was clean, highly effective, and mixed very well with other ingredients due to its simplicity and tastelessness. Better yet, there was no aftertaste like other creatine products and we felt that it was much easier to digest and worth the cost for its purity and potency.

Energy Natural Pre Workout Supplement

naked nutrition review
We do not recommend trying Naked energy by itself, add flavor for best results.

The third product we tried out from Naked was Energy Natural Pre Workout. Unfortunately, this was our least favorite product of the 4 we tried due to its overly powdery texture and strange yet somewhat bland taste.

Although we loved that Naked Energy contained 10 high-quality, natural ingredients for boosting energy, it did not taste good and we felt that it was missing some key ingredients, such as l-tyrosine, vasodilators, and electrolytes. The price for this product wasn’t extremely high, but we expected better overall ingredient composition for the price we paid as well as a better-tasting product.

Additionally, we found that the best way to use this product was to combine it with shakes, meals, or juices since the taste was not palatable on its own.

Overall, we wouldn’t recommend this product to most people since pre-workout products generally come with better flavors and more potent ingredients. We also felt that along with missing some key ingredients for performance this product also did not offer a high enough amount of creatine or beta-alanine per serving, especially for men.

Green Superfood Powder

Naked Nutrition ReviewThe fourth and final product we tried from Naked was Greens Superfood Powder.

Overall, this product was a little chalky but provided us with a powerful blend of organic vegetables, grasses, and other key nutrients.

We felt that by using this product our digestion improved and that our stress levels were somewhat reduced. It also provided us with an extremely easy and efficient way to consume our daily nutrients for better overall health and immune function.

Not only was this product easy to mix with water but it also combined well with other ingredients and meals.

Altogether, this product has a natural, clean taste and was easy to mix and digest. We definitely recommend this product for people who are looking for an easy way to consume their daily micronutrient needs or need a natural solution to stress reduction, better digestion, and improved immune function.

  1. I have been using Naked Greens. When I asked for information on testing for lead I was told they do not have that information. Not using it anymore until I get more information about the lead content.
