Our Experience with DS Laboratories

I have been suffering from quite a bit of hair loss for some years, lusting after the years of thick and soft hair. My ex even tried to make me feel bad about it. I ended up using quite a few methods to help, and even tried DS Laboratories for some time as well. The past years were a scramble to find a good solution for my head, and I can honestly say that DS Lavatories did aid in my scalp recovery.

Who Are DS Laboratories?

DS Laboratories is one of the leading Hair and Skin remedy researchers on the market today. Their aim is to find the perfect solution to hair loss and skin health, doing it at any means necessary. The best or nothing else.

DS Laboratories is based in Miami, Florida, and aim treat hair loss and aiding in skin health as well. They already ship 46 countries world wide, and have 15 years of experience in making a difference. The treatment provided is made from quality active ingredients and also provide Oxo-biodegradable plastic bottles to make their products extremely user friendly.

How Does DS Laboratories Work?

The process is rather simple. You’re greeted with a beautiful website with various discounts (Win) and a small link to click that takes you on a questionnaire. This way the experts at DS can get a grasp behind where you are currently and what you would need to see good results.

Companies can sometimes be lazy with services, so it’s quite pleasant being in an environment like this. From there DS will email you (and provide on the website) your results based on your answers cross referenced with clinical studies.

All the products are laid put neatly for you, and plenty of scientific explanation is given if you are interested. Whether it be thinning hair, a receding hair line, sensitive scalp, or just a need for hair growth stimulating products, DS has you covered.

Best DS Laboratories Products

This is a hard one to judge because there simply is so much to look at. Regardless, let’s look at the top three products from DS Laboratories:

Revita® Hair Stimulating Shampoo

As far as hair loss products go, this is an exceptional entry level product. The shampoo contains quite a few ingredients that are going to either fight hair loss, or increase hair growth by stimulating hair follicles.

Caffeine reverses effects of DHT (dihydrotestosterone), Cysteine to reverse hair loss, Taurine to aid in Keratin production, and many more. With over 2500 reviews, this product is rated at 4.2 Stars for good reason. Shampoos are the perfect entry level product, and can be used by either males or females.

Men’s Hair Loss Kit

This is quite a handy kit, including Revita Shampoo®, Revita® Conditioner and Spectral.DNC-N. We have already covered what’s in the shampoo, so let’s take a look at what is in the rest of the kit to illicit hair growth.

The Revita® Conditioner works just like the Shampoo, but unlike other conditioners, it works over a period of 12 hours or more on site to increase hair growth. For the best results, they suggest using this in conjunction with their shampoo.

The last piece of this kit is the Spectral.DNC-N, which is a redensifying serum with Nanoxidil® 5%. Coming in with a 4.4 star review, this product open ion channels in hair follicles on top of the head, allowing for ample growth without having adverse effects on health.

Women’s Hair Loss Kit

The Women’s Hair Loss Kit is logically aimed at women. It will contain both the Revita Shampoo® and Revita® Conditioner previously mentioned in the Men’s Hair Loss Kit, however instead of the Spectral.DNC-N it contains Spectral.CSF.

Spectral.CSF is formulated with women in mind specifically, focussing on follicular bulb size, hormonal fluctuations, skin sensitivity, and styling practices. Working in conjuction with the stimulating shampoo and conditioner as a treatment for thinning hair. Kits like these are the best way of getting your money’s worth.

Ordering and Shipping

DS Laboratories claims they an basically ship to any address in the world, but also mentions that they are limited by some countries due to the nature of the products at hand. As with most shipping, shipping costs will be dictated by the weight of the product at hand.

Unfortunately, DS Laboratories does not take any responsibility for any order once it has left the warehouse, but at least all orders are shipped within 2 – 5 days of the order being placed.

As far as payment options go, they are slightly limited by the offers, as you can only pay via Credit Card, Paypal or affirm – would have been nice to see more options such as Crypto on this list.

Customer Reviews

DS Labs is very keen on you reading the customer reviews, as most of their products are rated 4 stars or higher. Some of their products also has more than 2500 reviews, which is an astonishing achievement, since most of them are so incredibly good results.

If we hop over to Reddit and we’ll find reviews such as this one from Reddit username sweetycams2:

“I’ve had really good luck with their spectral.csf it’s a spray you apply twice daily and is similar to minox but doesn’t have the same side effects. I’ve had quite a bit of regrowth with it, started about 8 months ago. I’ve also used their shampoo and conditioner but not sure if that’s made much of a difference. Just switched to zenagen shampoo that my hair stylist who also has hair loss recommended.”

Dig a bit more, and you’ll find a mix of good and really good, but also some bad reviews, which to me signifies that there are probably not any fake reviews.

Alternatives to DS Laboratories

For this section we will be comparing Nanoxidil® to other popular products or brands being sold for scalp and hair health.

DS Laboratories vs Minoxidil

Minoxidil has been a favorite of consumers for years, and more often than not the one most hair health retailers will sell. It has a similar effect to Nanoxidil®, as it can help increase follicle size and elicit a healthy amount of hair growth. Nanoxidil® seems to be the better option as it has a higher molecular weight, making it easier for the skin to absorb.

DS Laboratories vs Hims

First off, Hims provides a much wider array of products, ranging from hair loss shampoo, to erectile dysfunction remedies. On the Hims site you’re also pleasantly greeted with a moneyback guarantee! Hims does provide a wider array products as well as the ability to get prescription medication as well.

DS Laboratories vs Keeps

Very similar to Hims, Keeps also offers a actual doctor you can speak to. They also offer Finasteride as well as Minoxidil, the former being a prescription drug. Neither DS Labs or Keeps offer a money back guarantee however. Out of the two, my money would be going towards Keeps as a company, for having more glowing reviews.

Is DS Laboratories Legit?

Absolutely. As a company, they seem to have their stuff together once you look at other sites. With the odd bad review, it’s still a great company and product. They have various specialists on their team (Dermatology doctors) to aid in the development of their products and to maintain a product that is state of the art for their customers.

Are DS Labs good?

The answer to this is not really a good answer, because in science we don’t use the term “good”. But, yes, they are “good”. They give you a great product for your money and have a tonne of people advocating the effectiveness of their products. Not all the reviews are positive which is actually a good thing as many reviews can be faked – ask your significant other.

However, if your aim is to get the shine back in your beauty, or just improve the health of your hair, DS Labs is definitely a place you should be spending time.

Is Nanoxidil better than Minoxidil?

For this, we’re going to look at two studies testing Nanoxidil and Minoxidil, unfortunately not against one another. Nanoxidil was found to be effective in 75% over a 3 month period, whereas Minoxidil was found to be effective in 62% of patients over a year period [3, 4]. While I don’t think this is a perfect reflection of the effectiveness of either of these two, based on these studies Nanoxidil seems to be more effective.

Does Revita® work for hair loss?

The website claims users see a result within 90 days of using it, we’d ideally want to look at actual results from people. Reddit username [deleted] had this to say about using the Revita Shampoo and Conditioner for 4 months: “Overall density of hair has improved as my hair shedding is down over 75%+, my thoughts on this are that I’m probably not growing new hairs, but rather retaining the hair I have on my head for much longer resulting in increased density through normal growth and shed cycles.”

Does Nanoxidil have side effects?

While more research is needed on the use of Nanoxidil for thin hair, the current active ingredients do not pose any adverse effects. Whenever using any product, make sure to read the label to avoid possible allergic reactions.

Does Spectral DNC N work?

Yes. When looking at the few studies done [3] and when looking at the reviews by users online, the customers seem to be extremely happy with the results. The quality also seems to be slightly better than Minoxidil.

Can you use Revita® shampoo daily?

Since the Revita® is not known to have any side effects, it is completely safe to use everyday unless you have adverse effects.

Does Nanoxidil regrow hairline?

Yes. Nanoxidil is known to be a DHT blocker, to lower scalp inflammation, and opens the follicle ion channels. It has also been specifically developed to be better at improving the hairline compared to other beauty and hair loss methods.

Is Nanoxidil a DHT blocker?

DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is known to cause hair loss as it can shrink your hair follicles as well as shorten their life cycle. Nanoxidil has been shown in various clinical studies to be effective in reducing dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
