What Supplements Do They Offer?

Baze offers a variety of vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, amino acids, and herbal products to target specific health concerns. These supplements fall under one of two categories: essentials or specialties.

Essentials

This category of supplements includes essential vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids which the body does not readily make and can only be obtained through food or supplements.

Specialties

This category of supplements includes non-essential amino acids, herbals, botanicals and other supplements which may provide additional health benefits and help customers to reach their health goals faster.

How are Supplements Controlled for Quality?

Baze uses several quality control practices to provide its customers with the purest and most potent supplements possible. Baze upholds high quality standards through implementing specific measures which include maintaining current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), offering non-GMO nutritional products that are free of gluten, lactose, and artificial colors, and by providing customers with complete confidentiality and transparency.

Along with these practices, Baze places each of its supplements through a strict approval process where its scientists assess all options possible for efficacy, purity, tolerability, and value.

All supplements are tested and approved for quality and purity by highly respected independent labs and all manufacturing and processing methods used by Baze are in accordance with the guidelines of the ICH. Finally, Baze implements BSL-2 (biosafety level 2) at each of its labs and all nutrient panels are analyzed through a proprietary analytical platform that is mass-spectrometry based.

How Does Their Pricing Compare to Other Supplement Retailers?

With our 50% off coupon these prices will be half off

Baze tends to have higher prices for their supplements when compared to other retailers, however this is due to several factors which allow their products to be superior. Additional and higher costs are associated with their supplement regimens due to the use of blood testing, nutrition panel analysis, and review of results by nutrition experts and leading scientists.

Although Baze incurs somewhat expensive costs, the company offers discounts for those who subscribe to their monthly supplement program and they even offer the first month of supplements for free for first-time subscribers.

What Are Customers Saying?

Baze receives high praise from the majority of its customers. Trustpilot has rated Baze as excellent based upon its customers’ reviews. However, some customers have experienced issues with shipping and receiving their products on time whereas other customers find that the testing kit and supplement options are limited.

Our Experience with Baze

We decided to test out Baze to see how well their supplement regimen would work for us. We were sent a blood-test kit to take at home and then sent it back to Baze in order for them to analyze our results. We also took their online questionnaire to better personalize our results and supplement recommendations.

The testing process was simple and took less than 10 minutes to complete. As soon as we completed the test we secured it within the insulator pouch and sealed the pouch inside the test-kit box. We then dropped off the box at the nearest FedEx Drop Box and Baze received our blood test the following morning.

After Baze had received our sample we were told that we should receive our results within four weeks. Normally, Baze would complete the analysis of our sample within 3 weeks or less but in response to COVID-19 Baze stated that their team was currently working with limited resources and that Nutrient Test results would be delayed for up to 1 week.

Here is a breakdown of the entire process with Baze including details of each stage during the process.

Baze Nutrition Review

Disclaimer: Baze sent us a free sample test kit in the mail. This in no ways impacts the honesty of this review.

Step 1: Open The Package

Baze sent us a nutrient test kit inside a prepaid box to return after its completion. In addition to the nutrient test, the box contained a band-aid, alcohol wipe, gauze pad, return tray, insulator pouch, instructional manual, registration code, and an informational packet about the company.

Step 2: Online Questionnaire

In order to better customize our supplements to meet our specific health needs, Baze required us to take their online questionnaire.

During the questionnaire we were given numerous questions which asked for specific health details including diet, lifestyle, and health priorities.

Here are some of questions that Baze had us answer in order to personalize our supplement regimen.

Step 3: Get Blood

Before completing the blood test we made sure to read through the entire instructional manual as well as watch the 2-minute video demonstration. We also fasted for over 10 hours and did not drink anything but water prior to testing. Finally, we completed the test on a Friday morning since Baze required for the test to be completed during the week.

After reading all instructions and completing the video, we unpacked the TAP device and removed the gray protector tray. Then, we placed the test on our arm and rocked it back and forth in order to create a tight seal.

Once the device was secured, we pushed the green button all the way down into the device in order for the microneedles to deploy. We noticed a very slight pinch from the device but it was not painful.

It took about 5 minutes before our test window turned from green to red, after which we removed the device from our arm. Baze mentioned that the test would take anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes to fully collect blood into the device so it was important for us to watch the test window throughout the entire process to ensure that it darkened completely before removing.

Once we removed the device from our arm we placed it into return tray that was included with the box.

Step 4: Pack Up and Ship (same day!)

After placing the completed blood test in the return tray, we then placed it into the insulator pouch. Before sealing the pouch we made sure to activate the heat monitor by removing the pull tap inside of it.

After sealing the pouch we packed it into the prepaid Baze box and sealed the box with the sticky adhesive provided.

Once the box was sealed, we dropped it off at the nearest FedEx Drop Box within an hour of completing the test. Baze received our box the following morning and let us know that our results were sent to their lab for analysis.

Step 5: View Results

Baze completed our nutrient reports within 10 business days of sending them the blood test. This was a much quicker turnaround than we anticipated due to the expected COVID-19 delay of up to 4 weeks.

The following Baze Score and lab results are based upon my personal nutrient test results.

Baze Score

Baze Supplement Review

Overall, Baze gave me a score of 74 which fell into the normal range. I obtained an optimal nutrient score for choline, vitamin B12, zinc, copper, and chromium. In contrast, I received a normal nutrient score for selenium, omega-3, vitamin D, magnesium, and vitamin E.

The following are the specific lab results I received for each micronutrient that I tested in the normal range for. I’ve also included a brief description of why I think my results came back sub-optimal for these specific nutrients.

Selenium

Baze Supplement Review

I received a lab result of 1.71 µmol/L for selenium in blood plasma which was slightly higher than the optimal range of 1.0381-1.65 µmol/L. I believe my selenium levels came back slightly elevated due to my frequent consumption of nuts, fish, enriched whole grain foods, beef, chicken, brown rice, dairy products, eggs, and oatmeal.

Generally, those who consume Brazil nuts, fish, shellfish, beef, and chicken are more likely to have normal to slightly elevated levels of this mineral which is why I’m not surprised that my levels came back slighly higher than optimal.

Omega-3

Baze Supplement Review

I received a lab result of 5.26% for omega-3 based on the combined percentage of EPA and DHA in my erythrocytes. This result was slightly lower than the optimal range of 6-11% for total omega-3 index.

I believe my omega-3 index was slightly lower than optimal due to my diet not containing enough fatty fish, such as salmon and tuna. I was a little surprised by this result since I try to consume fatty fish at least once or twice a week but this was a good indicator that I need to consume foods with high omega-3 content more often.

Vitamin D

Baze Supplement Review

I received a lab result of 110.21 nmol/L based on 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in blood plasma. This result was slightly higher than the optimal range of 70-100 nmol/L.

I believe that my vitamin D levels are slightly higher than the optimal range due to my frequent consumption of eggs and fortified dairy products.

Magnesium

Baze Supplement Review

I received a lab result of 0.8 mmol/L for magnesium in blood plasma which was slightly lower than the optimal range of .85-1.0 mmol/L.

I believe my magnesium levels came back slightly below optimal due to my diet not containing enough leafy green vegetables and legumes.

Vitamin E

Baze Supplement Review

I received a lab result of 20.01 µmol/L for  alpha tocopherol in blood plasma which was below the optimal range of 28-39 µmol/L.

I believe my vitamin E levels were below the optimal range due to my diet not containing enough leafy green vegetables and fortified foods.

Step 6: Review Supplement Recommendations and Place Order

We were each given recommendations on which nutrients to take after receiving our nutrient test results.

The following nutrients were recommended for me based upon my personal test results. Baze shipped my personalized supplements 3 days after sending me my nutrient test results and I received my first supplement pack within 4 days after Baze had shipped my order.

Vegan Magnesium

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 2 X 200 mg of Vegan Magnesium to help elevate my magnesium levels. Magnesium is involved in a large number of metabolic processes in the body and has a high impact on bone and joint health, strength and endurance, sleep and mood, as well as overall energy.

Omega-3

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 2 x 750 mg of Omega-3 to help raise my overall omega index score. This supplement is perhaps the most important out of all of the recommended supplements for me to take since it affects all 9 of the vital areas of health that impacted my total Baze Score.

Vegan Rhodiola Rosea

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 1 x 250 mg of Vegan Rhodiola Rosea in order to boost my energy, reduce stress, and enhance my cognitive function. Rhodiola is labeled as being a fatigue fighter so this supplement was absolutely essential for my supplement pack since I tend to struggle with low energy levels and frequent stress.

Vegan Ashwaganda

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 1 x 500 mg of Vegan Ashwaganda. Ashwaganda is known for being a brain booster and provides several benefits such as supporting cognitive function, supporting stress management, promoting relaxation, and supporting general well-being.

Vegan L-Theanine

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 1 x 200 mg of Vegan L-Theanine . L-theanine modulates brain activity and provides anti-anxiety effects by reducing overall stress and promoting a feeling of focus and relaxation.

Vegan Elderberry

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 2 x 460 mg of Vegan Elderberry. Elderberry is known as the immune-supporting berry and is especially helpful for combating the winter slump. I tend to have a slightly weak immune system and generally fall sick during the winter so this supplement was crucial for me to take as part of my recommended supplement pack.

Vitamin E

Baze Supplement Review

It was recommended for me to take 1 x 134 mg of Vitamin E to help elevate my Vitamin E levels. Vitamin E is an essential antioxidant and is best known for boosting immunity, improving bone health, and improving memory and cognition.
