Keto Salad Dressings

Updated February 5, 2021

When it comes to keto salad dressings, be extremely careful! Make sure to read this article to avoid a massive mistake that throws you off the tracks.

Be very careful with the dressings at restaurants. They contain a lot of sugar. Let’s go over some of the different options you have when on the ketogenic diet and you need to choose a salad dressing.

Let’s start off with the easiest path to keto salad dressings.

Keto Salad Dressings on Amazon

This is the option for people who just want to spent a minute or two making an informed decision and have salad dressing at their door in a day or two.

Fat & Happy Ranch

This has one carb!

Not one net carb, one carb total! Additionally it’s a very serviceable ranch dressing (read real reviews).

Also it has MCT oil, no sugar and is gluten-free. Also it’s non-GMO.

Fat & Happy Italian Dressing

This one has zero carbs! Along with all of the perk of the Fat & Happy Ranch (read real reviews).

Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Dressing & Marinade (Ranch, Caesar, Green Goddess)

This is a great option if you want some variety in your life. These vary but are around 2g of carbs per serving (read real reviews).

While you’re over at Amazon, check out the other options. There are loads of keto-friendly salad dressings over there.

Oil and Vinegar

This is the classic low carb option.

You can create it yourself by using 2 tablespoons of vinegar (balsamic, red wine or even lemon or lime juice) mixed with a tablespoon of olive oil. Some like to compliment it with some parmesan cheese. This is the classic dressing that resembles the house dressing at many Italian restaurants. If you enjoy this salad dressing then read no further. Keep putting it on your salads.

Bottled Dressings (not on Amazon)

Some of the bottled dressings you can use include ranch, bleu cheese, creamy Italian and Caesar. It is important to read the label when purchasing your dressing. Two tablespoons is the serving size you should use. If that is too much, great! The less, the better.

Restaurant Salad Dressings

This can get very tricky. If it is a chain restaurant you should be able to use your good friend at Google and get nutritional information on their salad dressings. If not, then you have to use some judgement. As stated above, oil and vinegar is always the 100% safe option when you go out for dinner.

When it comes to other dressings, you have to be careful of restaurants and their desire to add sugar to everything. Keto salad dressings at restaurants are dangerous territory. Some of the dressings I saw made in the back of the house…oh my gosh. Why even eat a salad if you are going to lather it in sugar?

Don’t be afraid to get two different dressings and test one to see if it has a sweet taste to it. This sounds insane, but don’t be afraid to take your own dressing to a restaurant. My Asian ex-wife taught me that while it is a bit insane, many people do it!

Keto Salad Dressings Recommendation

We suggest the always safe oil and vinegar if you are in doubt. If you are comfortable enough to ask the restaurant what brand of dressing they use that works too. You don’t want to spoil a meal because their house dressing had 24 g of carbs per serving and BELIEVE ME that can happen!

There are many compilations of low carb salad dressings on the Internet.
