GW0742 is also known as PPAR (peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor) agonist. GW0742 binds to the delta PPAR which increases the expression of genes responsible for fat metabolism. As particular effects are shown in muscles, heart and liver, it mostly controls the triglyceride levels as well as glucose metabolism in these organs.
