Is Tom Hardy on Steroids?

Today we’re going to address the question of “is Tom Hardy on steroids or is he natural”.

Like them or not, but steroids are a big part of the world of bodybuilding for many people.

And their results speak for themselves.

Steroids are dangerous, there’s no denying that.

And steroids have caused deaths in the past.

Like anything in life, however, if you abuse steroids and use them incorrectly.

You will pay the price.

If you use them correctly.

However, they can actually be hugely beneficial.

Many steroids we have nowadays were actually originally created for medical purposes.

In fact, doctors still prescribe steroids to this day.

And we don’t bat an eyelid.

Tell somebody that you’re using steroids to build muscle, however, and they lose their minds.

If you look at some bodybuilders.

It’s clear as day that they’re using steroids to build muscle and burn fat.

They’re usually lean and ripped, vascular, and hugely muscular.

With other people, however, it’s much harder to tell if they’re using steroids or not.

People often ask is Tom Hardy on steroids or is he natural.

And, in all honesty, we don’t know for sure.

What we’re going to be doing, however, is looking at pieces of evidence both for.

And against, the use of steroids on Tom’s part.

Legal disclaimer

Before we get started, we must first get the legal stuff out of the way.

The content of this article is based purely on speculation and should not be considered as factual evidence.

We are in no way associated with Tom Hardy or anybody close to him.

And we probably never will be.

We have no proof that he has ever used steroids and we certainly don’t have access to his medical history either.

We neither condone the use of steroids nor condemn the use either.

We’re not here to judge, we’re here to look at what we know about steroid.

And to attempt to conclude whether Tom Hardy may have used steroids for some of his roles in the past.

So, let’s get going.

Who Is Tom Hardy?

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last decade or so, you will almost certainly know who Tom Hardy is.

If you don’t, just find the nearest female and ask her and she’ll soon set you right.

Tom Hardy is a Hollywood heartthrob for women worldwide and is one of the most diverse and talented actors in recent history.

Tom Hardy is a method actor that is now one of the most sought-after actors in all of Hollywood.

He’s also apparently fairly good-looking.

Known for his roles in movies such as Bronson, Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, Legend, Inception, and Dunkirk.

Hardy has been in some of the most popular movies in recent history.

He also has appeared in very popular TV shows.

Including Peaky Blinders, and Taboo.

Tom is a method actor, which means that when he plays a character.

He doesn’t just sit at home reading a script, memorizing lines, and practicing a different accent.

No, a method actor undergoes a psychological transformation and essentially becomes the part that they are playing.

Not only that, but they also make the necessary physical changes as well.

Which is why we’re looking at is Tom Hardy on steroids or natural.

You see, in some of his roles.

Tom has bulked himself up and has built an incredible physique, which has resulted in many people suspecting that he may have used steroids.

We’ll get to that in just a moment.

But first, let’s learn about Tom’s early life and career.

Early Life

Tom Hardy is an English actor born in the East End of London.

Born in Hammersmith back in 1977.

Tom led a troubled life as a youngster.

He was regularly getting in trouble at school and he started to hang with the wrong crowd.

Such As Mark Wahlberg!

Tom had a real serious problem when he was young.

He began drinking at an early age as well as using drugs recreationally.

He found himself in trouble with the law on more than one occasion.

His drug use slowly began to spiral out of control and he found himself dealing with an addiction that consumed several years of his life.

He had a fairly good upbringing, and he certainly has creative blood in his body as his mother was an artist and his father was.

And still is in fact, a script and screenplay-writer.

Tom eventually was able to overcome his addiction and began channeling his energy into acting.

He studied drama and theatre in London and attended the London Drama Centre for several years.

Here he was taught his craft by the same teacher that taught sir Anthony Hopkins.

Who you may know as Dr. Hannibal Lecter from The Silence of The Lambs.

He graduated with flying colors, got himself an agent.

And did whatever it is that actors do to land their big break in Hollywood.

Acting career

Hardy’s big break came when he was cast in the Spielberg/Hanks epic WW2 HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.

This came in 2001 and sticking with the war theme.

Hardy once again played a soldier.

Though this time he played a member of a Delta Squad unit in Somalia in Ridley Scott’s award-winning Black Hawk Down.

Which was based on a true story!

His role was only relatively small, but he impressed critics and directors alike and slowly but surely.

His phone, or rather his agent’s phone, started to ring and the offers of roles kept coming in.

In 2002 he landed more of a prominent role in Star Trek: Nemesis as he played bad-guy Reman Pretor Shinzon.

He continued to act and appeared on the TV in The Virgin Queen.

And took to the planks of theatre, where he even won an award.

By 2007 Hardy’s popularity was really growing and people began realizing how talented and committed he was and he was considered for more leading roles rather than supporting roles.

He appeared in RocknRolla, Inception, Warrior, Bronson, and more recently Batman: The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road, Dunkirk, and plenty more.

He will also soon be hitting the big screen again in the Marvel superhero movie Venom.

Where he plays Eddie Brock AKA Venom.

Now, because of his appearance in some movies, most notably Batman, Warrior, Bronson, and Venom, people have often asked Is Tom Hardy on steroids or is he natural?

Tom’s physique

The title of this article is perhaps a little misleading because if you see Tom when he isn’t playing a role requiring him to look bulked up, he looks average.

It’s obvious that he works out and stays in shape.

But you can see that he isn’t a bodybuilder by nature such as Chris Evans.

Some actors, have literally been jacked all of their lives and will continue to be jacked until their time comes to shuffle off of this mortal plane.

Tom, however, clearly only really trains like a bodybuilder when he has to.

Therefore, it’s obvious that he isn’t on steroids all of the time, but has he used them?

When Tom played an MMA fighter in Warrior.

He impressed a lot of people, especially females it has to be said, with his physique.

He was very lean and toned and was carrying a decent amount of muscle.

Then Came Bronson.

In this movie, Tom played infamous UK criminal Charlie Bronson.

Who is considered one of the most dangerous and violent criminals in UK history!

Here he bulked up and added mass to his frame while sacrificing some definition.

He definitely added size to his physique.

But some came in the form of fat and water.

He looked more like a bodybuilder deep in the off-season.

Next came the role of Bane in Batman.

In the comics, Bane is literally enormous in the frame and has a physique that would make a prime Ronnie Coleman look average.

It was obvious that Tom would never get that big, but he sure as hell did bulk up.

His traps and delts were huge and he definitely looked a lot more ripped and defined.

If recent pics from Venom are anything to go by.

Tom’s physique in the upcoming superhero movie will look equally as impressive.

If not more so.

Is Tom Hardy On Steroids?

So, now that we have a little context.

Let’s take a look at whether we think Tom may have used steroids to play certain roles requiring him to carry a decent amount of muscle.

His Transformation

If you want to gauge whether or not somebody may have used steroids before.

It’s always good to look at how they used to look.

And at what they look like now, before looking at how long it took them to make the transformation.

Tom’s physique literally transforms from role to role.

So in terms of time, we’re talking months rather than years.

Tom stands at 5ft 9 inches tall and weighs in, on average, at around 175 pounds.

This is hardly big, and these stats are certainly not impressive.

However, at his heaviest, Tom has weighed in at close to 230 pounds, pretty much all muscle.

This is an increase in weight of close to 40 pounds.

Which is A LOT of muscle to gain naturally in a relatively short period of time!

It is certainly possible, especially if you factor in ‘newbie gains’ but it certainly casts doubt on the whole ‘natural transformation’ claims.

His Traps

When people start using steroids and training hard in the gym.

Often you will find that the first parts of their anatomies that grow are the deltoids and traps.

This is because the Trapezius muscles and the shoulder muscles are part of the anatomy with the highest concentrations of androgen receptors.

If you look at Tom in Warrior, Batman, and Bronson.

You’ll see that his traps look incredibly impressive and are pretty darn huge.

What’s even more suspicious is the fact that many of his reported workouts did not actually target the traps all that much.

Sure, they included the odd set of shrugs here and there, but nothing too crazy.

It’s obvious his traps are genetically impressive anyways.

But could their increase in size be down to steroids, or simply through hard work and genetics?

No Obvious Signs Of Steroid Use

If you take a look at some bodybuilders, it’s as clear as day that they are juicing, and that they’re juicing pretty darn hard as well.

Their faces will look purple and ready to explode through high blood pressure at any minute.

They’ll have veins everywhere, they’ll be huge.

Their delts will look like cannons.

And they’ll have acne on their bodies and faces.

And perhaps even cases of gyno.

Tom, however, doesn’t really have any of this, even when he is looking jacked.

His physique looks bigger, but that’s it.

He doesn’t have flushed skin, he isn’t ridiculously big, he isn’t in freakish condition.

There are no signs of acne or gyno, and there are no signs of steroid abuse at all.

So, is Tom Hardy On Steroids Or Natural?

From looking at the evidence above.

As well as our own existing knowledge of steroids.

We believe that Tom is natural 99% of the time.

What do we mean by that?

Well, we believe that he may have used something to help him bulk up.

And perhaps a very mild steroid at low doses.

Winstrol perhaps, or Anavar.

We also suspect he could have been running low doses of HGH and Testosterone.

Which would create the perfect anabolic environment for building muscle!

It’s clear that he isn’t using powerful steroids in low dosages.

And we believe that he could maybe have gotten in shape naturally.

Although we wouldn’t be shocked if he had used something other than creatine and whey protein.
