World Powerlifting Alliance (WPA)

The World Powerlifting Alliance is the international branch of the American Powerlifting Association APA. It was established in 1987.

Drug Testing

WPA meets include both drug tested and non-drug tested divisions.

Equipment

Suits up to double ply are legal. Canvas and denim lifting suits are prohibited. Double ply bench suits are allowed in denim and polyester. Open back and velcro shirts are allowed. Standard length groove briefs are allowed, as well as knee wraps up to 3.5 meters.

Age Divisions

Senior –  13 and up (no restrictions)
Pre-Teen – 11-12
Teenage –  13-15, 16-17, 18-19
Junior – 20-23
Submaster – 33-39
Master – 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
