How can you put limits on distribution and use of your wallpaper when you don’t own the copyright to the original image?
David…The limits exists so someone doesn’t use my artistic creation and try to make money from it. I am giving it away for free, as noted in the distribution statement, “You are free to distribute Muscle and Brawn’s wallpaper collection.” If others want to share it for free, have at it. If others want to use it on posters, whatever, and sell it…no go.
All Muscle and Brawn wallpaper is an artistic creation. The image you see on the wallpaper was put together by me…it wasn’t something freely floating about on the Internet.
If an image appears on the Internet with a copyright, I don’t use it. If an image appears in multiple spots across the Internet without copyright, I use it.
Do a search for that image. You will find it on endless websites, in endless variations.
If I take an image and create an original piece of artwork from it, it is my work. I do not want others stealing my original artwork, altering it, and and using it to sell their products.
That is the core of the issue. I give my wallpaper away for free. If I put no warning with it, others swoop in, remove my website name, and use it on their website. I am not granting limited use of my artistic images. But what I am doing is asking that they not be used by others to make money.
Also, using non-copyrighted images as a reference for an artistic creation is not illegal. I am not saying I took the picture, but I did create the art. And I am NOT selling my creation.
Lastly, Muscle and Brawn wallpaper exists to promote the celebrity on the wallpaper. If any of the celebrities on my wallpaper do not wish the free promotion, I will take the image down.
In the future, please post your true email address. Not doing so makes it appear as if you’re a troll.
