Platform: The Barbell Shrug

Rippetoe style shrugs from a dead stop = good. The first rep was difficult, but each each subsequent rep felt more natural.
I don't rave about exercises often, but I think this is a keeper for me. |
Definitely the MaB lift of the week. :D My traps are sorer today than yesterday! Definitely going to bust these out once every week or two.

I was thinking of lowering the pin depth from week to week to see if I could hang. Yesterday my pins were set at the #2 position. I would raise it a bit to #3, and work down over the course of 4 workouts to no pins which is slightly below knee. Perhaps this is too low, but I am curious to find out.
I have never aggressively trained the top half of the lift. |
I shall be trying this out myself on Saturday as I seek more power in my upper back. Traps are king and I shall be crowned :D

It was good to get reminded off those! Did them a while back and then today again. Good trap soreness coming up!

Rippetoes says that Starr had him alternate those with power cleans on one day then Rack Pulls and Halting Deadlifts on the other. I have never trained specfically that way but it makes sense.
