I made this book today by compiling all the top 10 finishers for the past 5 Olympics in Men's Weighlifting in the 82.5-85 kg weight classes. All the information was from Wikipedia. WLstandardsgoals.xls A couple of notes: Although this is only the 82-85kg weight group I believe the information is valuable to those outside of this weight class because I've calculated averages and ratios, which should apply to other weight groups, if not to all. The workbook has 4 or 5 pages, organized by Totals, Snatches, C&Js, the entire database, then lastly a few tools for planning and analyzing your own goals. I have the qualifying total for USA Nationals Men's 85kg for 2012 on the last page, but if you're interested in others, I found that information on USA weightlifting's website. Lastly, I had to convert it to an older version of excel spreadsheet to attach it, so let me know if that caused any bugs. Let me know what you guys think! Also, Steve, should you want to use this somewhere on the site, please feel free!

No problem. It's eye-opening stuff. It's American education's fault, but I really didn't understand just how much those guys are lifting until I did this (not having a grasp of metric weights). These guys lift 2 times their bodyweight in the snatch and 2.5 times for the clean and jerk on average, the best ones slightly more; it's just unreal.
