Nice weight loss! Strength will come back no question, esp. bench for you. That's your lift (like on Seinfeld "that's my move!")

And avatar is certified Angus Prime!

Funny, for me I can speed up warmups for squats and deads to get to working sets faster, but not bench. If I blitz into working sets, it's not pretty on the ole pressing muscles.

Good stuff. Gonna have to change the name to LeanJosh or StrongJosh or something!

Great question. Ideally, I think I should have done this before I started dropping tonnage. Since there is no going back in time, I think I will test them anyway. As I see it, there are 2 options:
1.) On the 5/3/1 week, instead of doing the 5/3/1 I just warm up using singles to my 1rm.
2.) I do the 5/3/1 week as normal and instead of the deload week, I test maxes.
What do you think?

With the added conditioning work and the lbs drop, my conditioning has increased. Its nice not to be sucking wind anytime I move around for a bit.

Thanks Mike! I know you are right about the strength. At first it hurts the ego to see numbers drop, but I know in the long run it will work out.
If it wasn't for the bench press, I would feel like a failure as a weightlifter. My squat and deadlift are pathetic.
I looked for a clip of the Seinfeld scene you referenced and cannot find one. I will just say this, I use a pinch at the end instead of a twirl.
Thanks about the avatar. I still can't get over the idea that I look noticeably bigger at 30lbs lighter.
I prefer to not speed through any warm ups, but such is life.
I may be losing some pounds, but I think it will be a cold day in hell when I can honestly call myself lean Josh!

I'm just glad I am not that cat!:vroam"

Did you have some popcorn with that session?

I would go with option 1, and maybe take an extra couple of days off before starting the maxes.

Great work Josh! If you continue to drop weight like this, you might need to change your username ! Play catch with your cat using a 45lb plate

We'll see. One thing is for sure, after looking at an OHP video I did tonight, I am still fat. Maybe 240 is in my future.

Yeah, that cat.... He's in the house right now and we are discussing his fate. I asked permission to to take one of his 9 lives. Kelly said no.
No popcorn with the butter melter. Fatty doesn't need popcorn...
Option 1 it is. Like I said above, I wish I would have tested a couple months ago. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks. Even if I drop weight I'll still be big. And like I told Steve, I have a long way to go until I am not fat. Maybe I'll change it to moderately good sized josh. Who knows.
And yeah, that cat.... I've contemplated his death.... there I admitted it.

Default Cycle 10 Week 2 OHP

Jump rope x 100 doubles

OHP
135x3
162.5 x3 (was supposed to be 152.5)
172.5 x1 (goal x3)

Rack Chins
Bwx10,10,10,6

Incline Bench
155x10,10,10,7

Db Curl
25x10x3

Overall Workout Grade: C

Notes:
Another day, another fail. Like I said already last week, at 30 pounds lighter and dropping, this is to be expected. Still Stings a bit though. I know it's part of dropping lbs, but still, no one likes to fail.
To put things in perspective how far I've back slide with the weight loss, I nailed 180lbs for a single on the 29th of January.

I put the rack chins before the incline press this week. This is actually the first time I put the back exercise before the press assistance. I liked it.
The other change I made this workout was I did 4 sets on the assistance exercises instead of only 3.

Meant to drop the incline press down 15lbs, I only took of 5, to make it 155lbs. My mind wasn't in the ball game, this was 2 misloads this session. It worked out alright though.

Kicked the db curls up 5 lbs from last week.

The weightloss is wearing on me. I am losing weight, but I am getting weaker. And when I look at a video of myself from today, I still look fat. Kind of bummed me out a bit. You know you were fat when you lose 30 pounds and you still are fat.

Hang tough Josh. That's a great weight loss. Once it's done, some of this strength will come back. That weight loss will be worth it.
