Firstly, congratz on the leaning out Big J! I am right along with you on this. I really got tired of being a fat powerlifter as I felt the extra mass was not as beneficial as I once thought.

The best way IMO to ask for specific help in choosing a routine is thru PM. I hear ya tho, programming a routine is definitely not my cup of tea. However, JB is teaching me alot so I hopefully will be able to do more of my own programming with a big dash of instinctive training, which really is a good direction to take as we get older and need more recovery time, which in itself seems to vary from month to month.

Always a treat to read thru your rants and rumbles as I always agree with them!

Bummed about the recent misses on OHP and squat. If it makes you feel any better, I have also had my share of misses lately. However, I love how you can self analyse the situation all the time and thus are able to figure out what's going on or wrong.

Thanks Swede. They really do mix well. I really feel like the cleans "prime the pump" really well.

Thanks KD. The belt thing was an in my face illustration that the fat loss is working!
Whether you do your PCs 531 style or not, you should track the progress and try to get them stronger!

Thank you Jim. This is an all around good post. I don't even know where to start in response.
I'm just going to say thank you for taking the time post in such a helpful and encouraging manner. It is a huge compliment that you enjoy the rants and rambles.
As far as programming, too many lifters try to reinvent the wheel. And I think we are just trying to avoid being those guys. But maybe it would be good to start doing more on our own. It's not like we haven't learned some sound principles and concepts by now!
THe weight loss is great, I'm feeling really good.
Thanks again Jim

Default 2/14/13 Cycle 10 Week 1 Bench Press

Bench
220x5
252.5x5
287.5x3 (Goalx5)

Super Set:
Kroc Row
40x10,60x10,90x23
CGBP
185x10x3

Overall Workout Grade: B-

Notes:
This was an interesting session. I was crunched for time and got this done in 27 minutes. That is a fastest session ever PR for me. I was amazed how I was able to kill myself in such a short amount of time.

I missed my rep goal on the bench. Oh well, I'm 30 pounds lighter since Novemeber, doing more conditioning and clearly in need of a reset. No biggie.

Will you be retesting maxes?

Sounds like your conditioning is has improved by leaps and bounds as the pound smelted off. Also nice to see there is no panic about not reaching the preset goals.
