Squats sure are a big mental game in a sense. I sometimes think I would be better off blindfolded and not knowing how uch weight was loaded. Additionally, there are many times the weight feels heavy after I unrack it, then I squat, and then after-wards I think, well that wasn't so bad. I need to teach myself to ignore how it feels after I unrack it, and to be more aggressive.

Solid work as usual Big J!!

Thank you sir! I'm really enjoying it. It's very flexible and versatile. I would have to say I settled in rather quickly, although I am still in sub PR territory.
The thing I really like is that while the 4 core continue to anchor the routine and progress, one can change the accessory work frequently enough to adapt to different schedules, goals and just to keep things fresh.

Couldn't agree more. A huge portion of it is a mental game. I've said this before, but there is a since of commitment/no going back when you are in the rack, with heavy ass weight across your back and the intention to lower it and pick it back up (if that makes sense). IMO no other lift has that level of mental intensity. On top of that your whole dam body is involved in support it.
In the end, I just want to squat big like you!

Default 6/8/12 Cycle 2 Week 1

Forgot my damn log book at home!

Deadlift
135,185x5
225x3
275x4
315x5
(see notes)

Walking lunges
35x10,10,10,6

Lying Leg Curl
95x15,15,15,12

BB Shrugs
155x15x3

Ab Wheel (at home)
3xmax

Overall Workout Grade: B+

Notes:
Forgot my log book at home!!! I was going to compare it to forgetting my gym shorts at home, but in all reality I could still get a great workout in my underwear.
So I had to guess what weight to do on deads. All things considered I guessed pretty good. However I was only supposed to pull 305 for 5, buy I ended up pulling 315 for 5.
No biggie in my book. On top of that the 315 was very easy.

This was one of those workouts where I felt like less than motivated going in to it and I thought I was screwed when I forgot the log book, but it turned out to be a relatively strong session. I'm happy with it.

Good stuff Josh. It's always nice to accidentally add extra pounds to your target and smoke a lift.

nice workout BigJosh ... actually most of us count wt during lifting and that acts as mental barrier sometime. If 315 looked easy that means you are capable of adding more wt. great going ...

Solid. Have a good weekend. If you can walk, that is.
