Thanks. Pretty smooth. I got a little bit forward on the first attempt, but after I got a drink and caught my breath, the second attempt went up pretty good. Its nice to give yourself more than one attempt so that you can correct mistakes. I feel it was a fair representation of a 95% 1RM. I had more in the tank; maybe not much more than 15 - 20 pounds though. I'll get it another day.

To put things in perspective though, the guy on the bench next to me ("Mike") was doing speed reps with 335. I feel so strong, yet so puny. Chinups (in between the first 5 sets of BP) 1/1/1/1/x = I own these now Superset Single Arm DB BP 45x12 45x10x2 MOAR Chinups (slightly wider grip) x/x/x Normally I would add in Pendlay Rows, but the space wasn't available. Rather than wait around and shoot "eye daggers" at the Bosu Ballers, I decided to go home.

Tuesday, 5/22/12
Workout 1.3.3 Deadlift 135x5 170x5 205x5 255x5 290x3 325x1 - I wasn't really ready for this attempt, but the clasic rock station was playing Tom Sawyer at the time. I figured I'd better lift while the liftin' was good. 365x1 - actually a bit more than 95% 1RM. I goofed when I set up this cycle. 365x1 365x1 Power Shrug - I'm getting to like these. I find it goes easier if you get a rhythm going. Paused every rep at the top...briefly 135x5 225x5 315x5 405x5

Thank you, my friend. Yes, I hadn't touched shrugs in a few years, then somewhere on this site, I saw a video clip of Rippetoe doing power shrugs. A completely different style than I was used to. I can use a meaningful weight. Rack every rep and pull the heck out of it. Makes lots of noise. Kinda cool. By all means, give them a try. it may take a couple sessions before you feel a rhythm, like I mentioned earlier.
