You're just looking for an excuse to move 7 plates
Seriously though, must feel amazing to have the power to move a bar with all that hanging off it!
As I mentioned before, it's got to be intimidating but if you want to keep moving up, you have to get on with it.

Thanks guys!

Regarding the partial work. I think I might be overshooting it with 300kg, I think 280kg might ultimately be a better weight to work down. My ultimate goals are a 800kg total, approximately 300/200/300. So working with 280/180/280 might make a lot more sense, especially seeing as I'm doing them for sets/reps.

Thoughts?

Good point Kuyt. It really is a matter of my actions matching my goals. If I want to be a lean 87kg I need to eat like it, if I want to be within reach of 800kg then I need to lift like it.

Day off today, lot's of partial presses tomorrow.

I am leaning towards smaller bumps. I just have a feeling that the larger bumps are just going to feel fruitless. I might just start +5% and word down over the course of 8-12 weeks. Possibly thinking about doing some staggering....like 2 pins down, one up type of thing.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of trying to bump the deadlift 5% at a time. I am going to structure a cycle based on 12-13 weeks, but I am "trying" to bump 5% 4 times per year. Might not happen, but I feel that's a solid goal for me to have. A little on the aggressive side.

Sounds good, it's definitely a solid plan. You'll never be too far from doing full range reps which is great for raw.

I think for me, I'll go with heavier weights and larger jumps. I'll benefit from the partial work in gear.

Sunday 29th April

4 Board Press, ring finger on rings (F6) - 20kg x 12, 60kg x 6, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 120kg x 1, 140kg x 1, 160kg x 1

180kg/396lbs x 3
180kg/396lbs x 3
180kg/396lbs x 3
180kg/396lbs x 3

Close Grip Rack Lockouts -

160kg/352lbs x 3
160kg/352lbs x 3
160kg/352lbs x 3
160kg/352lbs x 3

Traps still hammered from a few days ago. Ultra heavy partial deads seem to do the trick.

Today was alright, shirt is even looser since I've been dieting. Hardly get anything at that top position. Arms weren't even bruised after the workout.

You reckon so? I thought you were going to stay away from the partial work?

Yeah, I reckon so. It'll be loose as shit when I'm finished but I don't need it to be very tight for general training purposes. Besides it'll give me progressively more support as I come down the boards, no matter how loose it is.

Thanks Mark. I'm really pushing the top-end work a lot to get me used to handling the heavier weights. I want to feel as comfortable with 280/180/280 as I currently do with 260/160/260. That's the next step for me now.
