Push press 95x5 115x3 145x6 - New PR, this felt great. Solid reps, last one was a bit of a grind but went up fairly even. Back off push press work - I'm trying a 25 rep goal on my assistance work. 115x10 115x8 115x7 - move up 5 pounds next week. Close Grip Bench press 165x8 165x8 165x8 - 1 rep away from going up 5 pounds next week, but couldn't get it on any of the sets. Nuts. My tris are absolutely fried right now. I have a love/hate relationship with the push press. I hate that it's such an ass kicker of a lift but I love the size and strength I've gained from it. This was a very good session of press for me. Speed was on, timing and form were solid. I'm finally excited about the push press again. Question for you gents, is it a good idea to use a 25 rep goal for assistance work? I've noticed it in a few logs but wasn't sure if it was a style that I can use for all assistance work or just a couple of lifts? |

Squats 135x5 185x5 225x3 275x3 325x4(wraps and belt) - PR by default as this is territory I haven't lifted really. Got a single at 345 a couple months ago, I think. All solid reps but the 4th was absolutely brutal, nothing left in the tank. Back off squat(no wraps and no belt) - 20 rep goal 245x8,7,5 (20)- all nice and deep, move up 10 pounds next week I'm happy with the heavy set, no hitches, form felt good, no butt winking. Can't wait to get my singles up closer to 4 mark. What a beating the squat puts on you. Eating better, lots of protein so recovery should be good. Really sore from yesterdays push press work. Sorest I've been in the shoulders in a LONG time. |

Bench press 135x5 165x3 185x3 205x3 235x4 - PR!! 225 for 4 was a struggle last week but this set felt great! Bench press - 20 rep goal 195x8x7x6 (21) - move up 5 pounds next week standing tri extensions with ez curl bar - 30 rep goal bar+70x12x11x11 (34) - move up 5 pounds next week Great session today. Eating more protein has definitely been paying off. Was able to focus very good today as well for some reason, so i'm sure that helped. Loving the progression! Thanks for everybody's help and motivation! |

Deadlift 185x5 225x5 285x3 305x3 335x2 375x4 - PR - while a PR I was expecting 5 BB ROWS 30 Rep goal 135x12,10,10 (32) move up 10 pounds next week Lat pull Downs 120x10 Had to quit pull downs early. Decent session. Really wanted 5 reps on the Max dead. 4th went up strong. Middle back was still sore from my squats without belt earlier this week. |

Push Press 115x5 135x3 155x5 - PR, previous was 145x6 done last week Back off sets Push Press - 25 rep goal 120x10,8,8 (26) - move up 5 lbs next week Close grip bench - 25 rep goal 165x9,9,7 (25) - move up 5 lbs next week Kick ass session on the push press for me!!! Hit ALL goals and moving up in all 3 lifts next week. Hate to be corny but I'm so f***ing jacked right now... Shoulders feel very tender right now, gotta be careful. |
