Bench press 175x5 200x9 - PR, I wanted to attempt #10 badly but with no spotter I had to play it safe 245x1 - again, felt I had #2 in me but might not of. So didn't attempt without a spotter Had to cut it short but still felt good. Shoulders are probably actually thanking me right now for not doing more, but i need to still be doing more volume and secondary work. I'm not even close to being an advanced lifter yet, where i can go in and just do some heavy bench work and be able to call it a day. |

hectic, hectic weekend. Had to push deadlift day off to today.
7/9/2012 Deadlift 135x5 185x5 225x3 285x5 310x8 shrugs 295x5 295x4 225x15 225x12 225x8 - i really need to get some straps, I can feel that i can shrug more but grip eventually fails lat pull downs 150x5 150x5 150x5 150x6 - had to pause a second in between the last three reps Fighting off a cold that came on last night so i was worried I'd be wasting time attempting to lift. Did it anyway and glad I did. Everything felt good once the 800 mg of ibuprofen kicked in. Forearms are TOAST. |

Standing overhead press 95x5 105x5 120x10 standing overhead press "back off" work 135x5 135x5 135x5 135x5 - most reps (20)I've done with this weight Felt great. I have a nasty ear infection that has kept me from lifting my normal schedule, today it was tolerable enough to be able to lift. I hadn't lifted since Monday, so I felt strong and whole. Squat 135x8 185x5 225x3 255x3 285x6 Felt really good actually. Was training my cousin on the squat and was trying to demo the depth and ended up burying these really good. It always helps when others are watching. Bench Press 95x5 135x3 165x3 185x3 210x6 CGBP 185x5 185x5 185x5 I should have been able to hit 7-8 on the bench but I feel doing the squat first took from my ability to give more on this. This is why I don't prefer to stack any of the big 3 lifts. I'm doing that this week only because we will be gone later this week for a week on vacation. So I'll also be combining press and deads on Wednesday. |
