I hear ya on the not being able to drop the weights, but I agree with Kuyt too. You can catch a clean attempt easy enough. When I have to catch one, I squat a bit so that it hits my upper thighs pretty hard rather let my arms take the strain as that hurts my biceps/elbows. If I'm going to miss a snatch, I just bring it in to my shoulders, slide my hands in and lower it from there. Still, it is a pain in the ass, and besides as you point out, you're in no hurry.
Oh, and good point about snatch and OH. I am guilty of pressing them out from time to time but I try not to. Once I press out two, I stop for the day. However, I feel snatch sessions in my traps something fierce and I was thinking OH work on the same day would be counterproductive to that area. But maybe not. Something to think about anyway.

Honestly I don't know what would happen. My main concern is someone getting hurt. I have to squeeze into spaces to do these lifts as it is, so dropping the bar would mean it lands on something or someone. I try to have a plan just in case, but the best strategy I think will be to just never make too big of jumps in weight. Progress nice and slowly. Accidents can still happen, but not for my lack of trying to prevent them.

Solid work as always Tank.
With the snatches... I guess there isn't much you can do just work the crap outa technique with heavy but confident weight. BUT! try to ditch the fear of failure - it boggles the mind and eff's with technique and confidence more than anything. Keep 'em coming! |

Session A3
Warm-up Jump-rope, body-weight squats, shoulder dislocates, bar-only reps of various movements. This is the 3rd Snatch session in a row that my technique was spot-on. Loving it. Back squats felt good. Press is getting heavy; I may have to reset that within the next few weeks. We'll see. Finally, Incline Bench Press felt awesome, very strong. I'll be increasing them next time.
