Just one of those days with the snatch, Tank. Drop it from your mind and crush it next time. Especially as everything else went well. I think the feew days off might have done you some good.

I decided to just do 135 on rows because I didn't feel like taking the plates off. I'll increase the weight minimally to compensate. Added a plate to situps and got all the reps; I'll probably do another session with 5 then add some.

Yikes! You're smashing it up! What's the difference between a C + Jerk and a C + Push Press? Is one easier than the other? Great work

![]() The most obvious difference between the Push Press and the Jerk - at least with the technique I am using - would be the catch position. I train the Split Jerk, so after the dip-drive and launching of the bar, one foot comes forward while the other goes backward in order to get low enough to receive the bar. Then, the legs are brought into the same plane one at a time. The most important difference between the two, however, is the method by which the lifter gets the bar overhead to lockout. In the PP the idea is to dip, launch the bar from the shoulders, then press it the remaining distance to lockout overhead. In the Jerk the idea is to dip, launch the bar from the shoulders, then drop low enough to catch it with locked arms. Which is easier as far as technique, I would have to say the Jerk just because of the movement of the feet in conjunction with the launch/lockout. But I will caveat that by saying I was shocked at how awkward Push Pressing was for me initially. It is not an easy movement, especially after having done years of strict Military Pressing. Ease concerning effort, I really am not sure. I would say the Jerk because you don't have to press at the top, so theoretically a good dip-drive and launch does most of the work. To summarize, as with all lifts, in choosing between the two you have to consider most of all the reasons for using the lift. You have to ask yourself what you're trying to improve and go from there. For general strength training, I would use the Push Press; the Jerk by comparison is for much more specific uses, in my opinion. Hope that made sense.
