I've hit some spells of mild tendinitis at times, and the occasional minor knee strain. I think you're doing good by backing off for a while. Hit a couple lower sessions until it feels solid.

Friday, 4-27-12
Deadlift 245, 335, 365(0). Yes, zero. Front Squat 3x6, 175. 20 pounds more than last week. Calf Raise 90(15), 135(15), 170(10) Cble Crunch 20(15), 21(12), 21(8). Deadlifts were great--great form and control--right until the last set. Between my 335 set and my 365, I got distracted by a guy who kept asking me questions. He seemed well intentioned, so I answered him as best I could and referred him to MAB (of course). I ended up waiting too long--it was more than 5 minutes between those sets. By the time I got back to the weight, I was almost "cold" and 365 felt like it was welded to the floor. This delay was my fault. Next week, I will not let anyone distract me and I'll destroy that weight. I'm still pissed about it. Front squats felt good. I noticed a touch of left knee pain on one rep, only I noticed that my left foot wasn't lined up with my left knee--AHA!!--that may have been the cause of my knee pain on squats. I can't believe I actually forgot to do OHP. Probably still ticked about the missed DL. |

Yeah you will crush deadlifts next time.
Also that sounds like the problem with knee pain but if it continues you might look into buying a cheap pair of knee sleeves. I know they help a lot of people out and I really like my pair. It seems though that you and BtB found the problem, hope you get it all sorted out. |

BbRow 180 (6,6,6). 1 rep more than last week. IncDbBench 95 (6,7,6). Same as last week. Pullups BW+25 (6,6,6). Smae as last week. DbCurls 3x8-10, 40 (7,7,6). 1armDbExt 3x8-10, 35 (7,7) Rows felt better. More under control. Starting to hand the 95 pound Dbs better on incline. Can't wait for next week. Thanks for the encouragement guys. |

Monday, 4-30-12
Squat 245 (7,7,6). Felt good. Still feeling out the knee. Calf Raise 3x8-10. 270, 280, 290(6) Cleans 5x3 160. W.Situps 70(15), 70(15) Overall felt good. My knee felt fine during squats. Will try out 255 next week. Tuesday, 5-1-12 Bench 250 (6,5,4). 2 less than last week. Db Row 3x10-15. 80 (12,11,11). 1 more than last week. Dips BW+80 (6,5,4). First attempt. Chinups BW+20 (7,6,5). 1 more than last week. As usual bench is stagnant. It's been 4 weeks at the same weight w/o an appreciable increase in reps. I'll give it another week or so and see what happens. If I don't get any movement, I may move down a bit and try moving back up slowly. Maybe even microload it after 240 or so. |

Hoping you hit a breakout on that bench. Back in the day when I hit bench stalls I would give myself a play day to do whatever chest workout I wanted, as long as it was higher-ish volume.
