Officially a day off. Also going to eat my face off tonight.
You're right to call it a night. Basic training 101: No single rep, set or session is worth getting injured for (unless that rep happens to be for the win in a meet

Incidentally Fazc, are you eating 1500 cals for meal 1 and 2000 cals for meal 2? If so, mind if I ask how much protein you would eat in a single sitting and what the meals would consist of? I'm just interested is all.

I've only been doing that for a couple days, breakfast has been 10 eggs, 5 toast, and a pint of milk for around 80g of protein. Dinner is around 100g of protein, from a lot of meat and milk.

The previous three weeks was 1k at 12pm, 1k at 4pm and 1.5k at 7-8ish.

Don't know whether I'll persist with it, I was a little grumpy today. But that could have been down to other things.

Man, you are turning into a human laboratory! You got human research going on in all directions, it's a wonder you sleep at all.

Thanks, btw! It's helpful for us lazier types for you lot to figure everything out and then tell us what to do.

Oh, and nice lifting too. I didn't think OHP less than 16 hours after benching heavy would work at all, but what do I know? Very interesting stretch of the mind there.

Hehe, to be honest I'm trying to reel that side in a little. Nowadays whenever I experiment it's usually minor changes.

Hey, like I've said before this is stuff that people have taught me and I've added to and I'm just paying it forward. If I can do that in a positive way then that's good karma right.

Cheers man, it started off as kind of a recovery session you know? To be honest I'm up in the mornings feeding my chickens and well the gym is right there so I figured I'd roll with it As my conditioning has gotten better I'm finding I can actually work out pretty hard in the mornings too.

Friday 2nd March

Bench Press (Slingshot) - 20kg x 12, 40kg x 3, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 120kg x 1

145kg/320lbs x 3
145kg/320lbs x 3
145kg/320lbs x 3
145kg/320lbs x 3
145kg/320lbs x 3
145kg/320lbs x 3

Dynamic/Starr Shrugs - 100kg x 3, 140kg x 3, 180kg x 3

220kg/484lbs x 3
220kg/484lbs x 3
200kg/440lbs x 3
200kg/440lbs x 3
200kg/440lbs x 3
200kg/440lbs x 3

Started off the Benches with a wider than usual grip. That felt unusually hard, so dropped back to a regular grip for the remaining four sets.

Shrugs started off at 220kg but I felt I wasn't getting high enough (never good eh), so I marked a depth gauge and made sure I pulled to that for the 200kg sets. Got really nice height on the 200k sets. I need to be careful my shrugs don't turn into very strong partial deadlift, seen that a lot on youtube. It's not a good look.

Cheers Swede, thought you'd like those Shrugs

Yep Hazz, about 7 weeks. I haven't thought much about it to be honest. I had a rough plan of doing a few more weeks of multiple sets/reps work then taper down to singles in the last week. My main concern is just getting my Bench right in the shirt. Once that's done then a 700k+ total is mine and hopefully more like 720 this time around (270/180/270).

I'm trying to focus a lot on flexibility at the moment, I did a bunch of flexibility work prior to the last comp and my squat form turned out pretty decent. It's backtracked a little since then so I need to get that going again. Doesn't help I'm spending far too long in front of computers these days.
