Deadlifts
225,260,300,345x4 DB rows 125x6(PR),4, 100x10 Lat pulldown 170x8 (sloppy) 155x8,6 Seated cable row 160x10, 155x8,135x7 (Less than 60 seconds rest between sets) BB curl 80x8,6 75x6 BB Power Shrug 225x12, 315x8,8 DB Shrug 120x7, 110x8 DB curl 30x12x3 Overall Workout Grade: A Notes: This was a pretty fun session. My deads bounced back from last weeks disaster. I did 2 things that I haven't done in a while. 1.) I worked my way back at 12.5% intervals from my working weight of 345, to determine the weight used on my ramping sets. 2.) I really focused on my setup and tightening up my upper back before the pull. I went with 125 on the DB rows just to hit a PR. It felt great. Heaviest dumbell in the gym, owned for 6. YEAAAHHHH BUDDY! On the last set I just tried to hit a higher rep set to help set a baseline for 5/3/1. My vertical pulling is weak. I am going to make a commitment to focusing on this while doing 5/3/1. I've always put rows first and vertical pulls second, I need to do the opposite. Did the seated cable row in a quick manner, just to change things up. Usually after BB curl I do preacher curls, but today a gym buddy of mine was doing bb shrugs and I thought it would be fun to give them a shot. I haven't done them in years. First bb shrug set of 225 was easy. We bumped it up to 315 and I really had to push it. Good stuff. Very fun. However my lower back is angry at me today and I think bb shrugs are the cause. Went ahead and followed the bb shrugs up with a couple good clean sets of db shrugs. My traps are feeling it today!!! YEAH BUDDY!!!! Ended the workout with some higher rep db curls. Felt good, got a good pump. I changed things up a bit and it made this workout funner than most. I am really disciplined about sticking to a routine for months on end. But is sure was fun to mix things up a bit.

Now that you've end the end game on dumbbells it gets fun in a new way. Time to see if you can hit 20 reps with those bad bots.

Cool pics! Treasure the time, it goes fast! My son is now suddenly 6 and in school most of the day. I don't know how that happened so fast.
![]() Nice deads, obviously. I'm with you on those vertical pulls. I don't emphasize them enough. My gym has 150 DBs, you have to come on by some time!
