Thanks guys. My upper pulls aren't to organized in terms of progression so this should add something...

Just glad you didn't strain anything on that rep. Those are usually the ones that leave me damaged.
Love the song!

Me too. Wanted the rep but was also ready to let it go if I felt like I was moving out of position. Luckily this didn't happen... but I'm not going to put myself in that position again.

That's encouraging. In terms of frequency how far are you planning on going with the Presses?

That little improvement may be from a the improvements in the power clean, dropping back to 3 sessions a week, or some slight improvements in push press technique... Can't say which, if not all, but I'll take it!

For frequency, I plan to keep to 3 sessions a week for about a month if not 2 to give myself a little breather (same for all my lifts). I'd like to eventually work back up to 5 days a week with 3 push press sessions and 2 jerk sessions (tee he he)... not exactly presses but still "heavy" weight locked out overhead. More than likely stick with a daily max/heavy single and a few down sets.

Good job grinding that rep out, some days those "easy" reps just feel hard. Some very strong work over all though!

Thanks guys!

A little late posting...

2 - 18 - 12

Clean & Push Press
-1x240
-2x0x250... STUPID MISTAKES!
-2x3x215
-3x2x225

Squat
-1x405
-1x440
-5x2x405
-4x2x315 (pause)

Deadlift
-4x1x450

DB Row
-3x10x70

A decent day. CPP 240 felt great so I jumped to 250 for 2 decent pc's. Wasn't thinking on the press attempts and let my shoulders relax a bit. During the dip, bar rolled down the shoulders slightly which made the bar go more forward than up during the drive... both times... I'm an idiot.

Squats were hard, but no complaints. Wasn't feeling triples so I threw in two additional doubles. I messed around a little stance on the pause squats; slightly wider stance than my usual seems to allow me to keep a more upright back... may make some changes...? Deadlifts were difficult but not to shabby considering being done after squats.

Great session Pull. Intense and heavy as always! I wouldn't sweet the clean and press to much, you'll get it next time.

Great work Pull. It's annoying when you know where you went wrong but it sure beats being mystified. At least you know where you stand and can fix it next time.

How long did that session take you, out of curiosity?

My sessions usually last 1hr 30 - 2 hrs with a quick warm up, this one though took about 2hr and 30min. Spent a lazy 40 minutes warming up because I was tight as all hell and needed some time to get my mind outa life and into the weight room.

How my training is broken down in time... Limit myself to 10 minutes to work up to my minimum max (usually 5-15lbs lighter than my best), sometimes an additional 5 if making PR attempts or just feeling like complete crap. Keep myself to about 10-15 minutes on down sets. About 10 minutes rest between C/PP and Squats. Sometime to clean up and unload the bar before 10-20 minutes on my upper body pulls.
