3 - 6 - 12 Clean & Push Press -1x210 -1x225 -1x240 -1x250 PR -2x3x225 PR -2x2x235 PR -1x235 -2x235 Clean & Press -1x175 -2x190 PR Felt like there was some lean back Squat -1x405 -1x440 -0x455 -2x3x395 -1x2x415 -1x1x415 Pull Up -1x8xbw -1x5x25 -3x5x50 -2x8x30 It was a great day for the most part. Overhead work PR's were a flowin. Worked the heck out of my t-spine these last few days and what a difference it made... so much so I was not at all used to pressing overhead with the increased flexibility. As such, way to many of the reps were not fluid, but still strong. Will just have to work on timing to fix up the loose ends... I believe once thats done I shouldn't have much trouble shooting up a few more lbs. Presses at 175/190 were out of curiosity, 190 felt good and managed another rep. Squats on the other hand weren't great. The CPP fatigued the crap out of my lower back and my hips ended up rising to quickly for most of the work. 455 was close, grinded through almost all of my sticking point before just running out of gas. On the 2nd rep of the 2nd set of 415, I descended into the hole and just racked the bar on the safeties... I was done, wasn't even going to attempt it. With lighter pressing coming up this Saturday, 455 will be made. My ugliest PR yet, but I'll take it. BW+75lbs overhead! Last edited by Pull14; 03-07-2012 at 12:21 AM. |

A man among boys. Congrats. How is your grip feeling? I have small hands and get issues with DOH around a 315 deadlift, so I am always curious how others are progressing with DOH grip strength. It amazes me when I see speed pulling using a DOH.

My grip is OK, though my lifts are progressing way faster than grip. Starting yesterday I'll be doing my pulls with a hook grip. I stretched the crap out of my thumbs, wrap them in tape (red thumbs in vid) and the difference was quite large. Grip work will just have to come from my rows/pull ups. |

Snatches and cleans were caught a few inches above parallel to work on balance, but still power versions. Although only from the hang, really like how the my clean is turning out. Will soon start working below the knee and from the floor before using this technique for my clean & push press work. Jerks were power jerks; still prefer my "half assed" split jerk. Squat jerks were very easy... "caught" the jerk in the power position before doing a full squat. Just working on balance and flexibility. |
