I've seen where it is easier to rack if your hands are further out than a normal clean grip. So you could start with your hands wider on the initial pull from the floor and see if that is enough to get the bar into a proper rack. If so, see if you can jerk it from there or if you have to bounce it on your shoulders to get your hands back in a bit.
Or if I read you correctly, you could clean it normal and catch it elbows up, but barely holding on with fingers. Then bounce it a touch on your shoulders to re-grip and put your hands where you want them. Just my .02 No doubt your coaches know better, but thought I'd throw that out there to see if it might help. I can see where you will get frustrated if this doesn't sort itself out. And I'm worried about the car windows around your gym, Mike!!

Thanks guys and after looking at some of my past footage I am going to keep my hands on the bar. I just cleaned 264 for a double when I was having problems with it last Tuesday (missed it twice and had to go down and work back up) I am going to keep at it and be happy with my progress. 286 will come and so will 308. Its just going to take time and I need to STFU!

Had to move Thursday workout up for travel so I trained at home and did what I felt like.
