Small world!!!!! We train at a private gym. Nice place for a few guys to train, with just the basics. I have trained at White Oak High, the school I work at. Just a lot better training over there with those guys.

I do deadlift grip high pulls but snatches scare me.

Yeah, excellent work Mike!
I couldn't tell on the power snatch, but do you hook grip those? If you do, any tips? Hooking in a snatch grip has been difficult for me.

I do. I started training with a team once a week about two months ago but I was training for a power meet so it was kinda half ass. I just started training three times a week with my team. Probably take me 6 months to get to where I need to be.

Good luck, Mike! In six months, you'll be a beast with these lifts, I have no doubt.
Thanks for the offer to help. Pull also hooked me up with some information. But my problem is small hands basically. On a clean I can hook half decently, but it hurts and I can only grab my thumb with my first finger, so when it gets heavy, even that slips more often than not. However, snatch is much worse as the angle seems to make matters very difficult and my thumb pops out right away with any kind of weight. Honestly, I think I just need to do it more, get past the pain, and kind of stretch to lengthen my thumb so it's easier to grab. However, any tips you have are much appreciated. And thanks Pull too! That article was very enlightening! Great stuff you're doing. Looking forward to you crushing that meet!
