17/4 Making high volume my bitch
Comments: Very happy about this session. One week ago I could barely walk, litteraly, from retearing the glute medius. Very good recovery and today I felt OK, I will not max on squats or deads until its looked on my a medical or atleast physio though, to play it safe this time. I also got a theory about what affects this injury and makes it retear all the time: I have been using a very thin (5mm / 6cm) leatherbelt at occasion and since im pretty tall, it might have cut in to the soft-tissue of my lowerback creating a reverse effect. Just a thought but will avoid using it further. Did not use a belt for any of the sets today. Cut my 5 sets of 10 short on the squat, my upperback cramped up like crazy so lost stability and leaned forward a bit on the last reps when fatique kicked in. Did a tripple and some fronties instead. Deadlifts were lightweight but challenged my conditioning a bit. Squat, olympic style 10xbar 10x70kg 10x105kg 10x105kg 10x105kg 3x125kg Clean and Frontsquat 5x70kg 3x80kg 3x90kg *1 clean, fsquat for reps Deadlift 8x90kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg 8x120kg *Dbl overhand grip. Leg Press 20x100kg 20x100kg Incline situps v/s medicine ball 4x10-15 *While being hit in the gut with a 8kg medicine ball.
