Mind if I give a bit of encouraging words in regards to bench? Heres the truth about bench, it's not as easy to perform as most ppl think and it's is the most hard lift to actually get to progress! Just focus on strengthen your shoulders, biceps, triceps and back and watch it grow! Trust me, i've been chasing a 500lb bench for several years with numerous setbacks...just stick with it and it will break!

Monday 30th January 2012
Switched the order of training days around today to allow for more recovery prior to weekend sports. A. Push Press 65kg x 5 75kg x 5 85kg x 3 (still feeling a little beat up from Saturday and I also forgot my belt, so left it here) All warmup/working sets supersetted with BW chins x 4 Assistance - all supersets, 60 seconds rest between blocks B1. SOHP 50kg x 5 x 10 B2. Chins BW x 8, 8, 6, 5, 5 C1. Close Grip Pulldown 90kg x 6, 6, 6 C2. Face Pulls Unsure x 20, 20, 20 (focused on getting a nice stretch and ROM) D1. Hammer Curls 20kg DB's x 4 x 8 D2. PJR Pullovers 30kg DB x 4 x 10 Conditioning Sprints on 15 degree incline: 10 secs sprint/40secs rest x 7 rounds Last edited by Beast; 01-30-2012 at 09:42 AM. |

A. Power Clean Work up to 105kg x 2 B. Deadlift 155kg x 3 175kg x 3 195kg x 3 C. Front Squat 70kg x 5 x 10 (60secs rest between sets) D. Farmers Walks 50kg DB in each hand: 3 x 40 metre walk (60 secs rest) E. Neck Harness 20kg x 25, 25 Conditioning 20mins interval bike: 3mins max effort/2mins light x 4 rounds I think I've screwed up my deadlift working max, due to using my mixed grip max but now deadlifting with straps. I will have to review this, as I wish to stick with straps for now. The last set was very hard, although I've lifted more with mixed grip with less effort. |

BtB, yes I do - I lifted 220kg's a couple of weeks ago with no straps and it was a smooth pull from the floor. Getting 195kg off the floor with straps today was a grind.
Due to inaccurate use of a training spreadsheet, I should have been aiming for 180kg x 3+ today as my working set I need to start logging working maxes so this idiocy doesn't occur again!
