Tuesday 24th January 2012
Power Cleans Work up to 100kg x 3 Squat ATG 120kg x 5 125kg x 5 135kg x 10 (+5kg, equal to last weeks reps) Deadlift 147.5kg x 5 165kg x 5 187.5kg x 8 I amalgamated squats and deadlifts today as I have a rugby match again at the weekend and need some lower body recovery days beforehand. In future when I have match I will condense my training into two sessions; Squat/Bench and Deadlift/Press for the week. Deadlifts were done overhand with straps, but based off my mixed grip/no strap working max. It went fine and actually felt a lot better on my elbows than mixed grip. |

Push Press 60kg x 5 70kg x 5 80kg x 8 Sets of BW Chins x 3 between every warm-up and work set Strict Press 50kg x 10, 10, 10 Chins 6, 6, 6, 6 Dips 12, 12, 9, 8 Pretty good session, not going berserk due to another rugby match on Saturday. Next couple of weeks I have no rugby so I will be able to get more time in the gym, which I am looking forward to. |

I imagine you need a couple days break after a match to heal from the beatings before you train.

BtB, it's a pretty physical game, certainly the day after I feel like I've been run over by a truck haha! Saturday 28th January 2012 Rugby match, won the game! Very physical game, a few people went off injured from each side but we persevered and won. For anyone not familiar with rugby tradition, here is a short motivational pre-match film.
