Nothing heavy for Wednesday since Thursday is my final event day before next weekend's contest in Indy. If anyone is near there, its at the Indy convention center. They are having strongman, powerlifting, bodybuilding and armwrestling on the 9th. Should be a fun day

I weighed in Friday at 231.2. It was kind of funny because I took some Milk of Magnesia(sp?) to help clean out my insides while I dehydrated all the water from my body to make weight. It didn't work due to the lack of fluid in me already but I still made weight. Over the many times I've done the weight reduction, I've learned to stay put at the weigh in site for about an hour once I start rehydration. This is usually due to occasional dizziness from the influx of fluids. About a gallon into my gatorade, the milk of mag started to work Good thing I was still at the gym and close to the restroom. I spent the day rehydrating and eating and woke with a stomach ache, not a good thing. I was feeling lousy all day and didn't have a good feeling going into the contest. There were 7 LW masters even though we only thought there were 6. One guy (trophy hunter) entered noice and masters. We didn't know until the placings for the final event there he was in our group. First event was the 550# yoke for 80'. I was nervous about this because it was what I hurt my neck on last month and basically cost me about 3 weeks of serious training. All events were head to head which made it more fun. I was first up in the yoke and once I got under it, all felt fine. I started moving and didn't feel any pain so I picked up speed and ended in 2nd place in the event, about 14 seconds. Lower back started to tighten a bit but at my age, that's normal and it didn't affect me during the day at all. 2nd event was axle clean then press for reps, only 180#. I was only planning on a few which is what I got, 3 reps. Still happy with that because my overhead strength is coming back, slowly but its on its way. 6th out of 7 and it dropped me to 6th place. I was up first in the car deadlift, about 500# at the most. They added weight to the original announced weight because it was stupid light without any extra weight. I started out at a good pace and took a rest at 10 reps. 10 seconds left I knocked out 2 more than added another at the 3 second mark. One guy called me a smart a$$ for getting that last rep I ended up 2nd in this event and it moved me up to 4th. 4th event was 210# farmers for 80' then a 210# keg back the other way for 80'. Moving events are usually my achilles heel but today I had some decent speed. I ended uo 3rd in this event at about 24 seconds. Final event was stone loads and I was in 3rd place, one point ahead of 4th and 2 points behind 1st. I knew the top 2 guys were champion stoneloaders so my goal was to ensure a 3rd place finish. The guy in 4th only loaded the 1st stone, 220# to 50" so all I had to do was load the 220 and the 240. I loaded the 220 and 240 before the guy I was going against even got his 1st stone. The next stone was 280# but also a 20" stone which I haven't loaded before. I got it to the lip of the platform but just couldn't get it the rest of the way up. I still ended up 3rd and had one of my best contests in a long time.
