10/31/2009: Back
Workout Time: 46 minutes Workout Grade: A Spent over 10 hours swimming on Wednesday and Thursday, and was feeling fairly lazy and sore going into today's workout. In fact, I was about to doze off watching "Monster Quest" when I kicked myself in the backend. Time to get moving! I felt much stronger then expected today. Overall, a very good workout. My reps were very explosive, and I could feel my upper back working hard. I hadn't performed regular deadlifts in a while, so I dropped the weight a bit. Deadlift (Rest-pause singles) 365 x 6 Yates Rows 155 x 10/6/5/5/5/5/7 Total = [43] T-Bar Rows 140 x 7/4/3/3/4/4/5 Total = [30]

11/01/2009: Hammies and Abs
Workout Time: 39 minutes Workout Grade: A Abs...the dreaded abs. My least favorite muscle to train. I sucked it up, and did my ab work like a man. And I survived. But let me digress...to Romanian deadlifts. I dare you to try them rest-pause style. You'll work your hamstrings, lower back and forearms. In fact, I believe this to be one of the best forearms workouts I've ever had. My forearms have a very good pump right now. No need for all that fancy, schmancy forearm roller stuff with 5 pound dumbbells. Just do grip work with heavy weight. I'm still trying to find the perfect foot positioning for Romanian deadlifts. Getting there, slow but sure. For those of you that do this exercise...a tip...when lowering the bar, thrust your hips way back first. This action will force you into deep hamstring stretch. I need to find a hamstring exercise that replaces hammie curls. I hate this exercise. I pretty much dislike all isolation exercises. In fact, that might just be on my tombstone... Did I mention I hate abs? 39 minutes, and a devastating workout. Long workouts don't impress me. Short, intense workouts with little rest and heavy weight...well, that impresses me. Romanian Deadlifts 185 x 8/5/4/4/4/5/5 Total = [35] Hamstring Curls 65 x 9/4/3/3/4/4/4 Total = [31] Weighted Situps 25 x 10/7/6/6/6/7/10 Total = [52]
