Friday OHP
Solid session on friday, pressing felt solid. Using the same jugg methods. Standing OHP 95 x 2 x 5 120 x 9 x 5 120 x 14 These were pretty easy, all with 45-60 sec rest Dips BW x 3 x 20 Pull Ups BW x 3 x 10 Band Push downs Average band x 3 x 20 Hammer Curls 30s x 3 x 12 Felt pretty good on this stuff. Legs are super sore still. Nytric was really good for this workout. This was the first workout where I did higher reps. Had some crazy pumps going on, the nytric does what it says. Hoping it will help me recover.

Saturday Quick Recovery Workout
Just trying to get the soreness out of my legs. I can barely walk after my squat and deadlift workout on Thursday. I am going to do strongman tomorrow. I will start with the log and then see how I loosen up. Anyway here is what I did today. Warm Ups x about 30 mins rolling and dynamic warm ups. Front Squats bar x 2 x lots 95 x 2 x 5 135 x 3 x 5 These were done atg and were very painful to start. Then I loosened up a little bit. Band Good Mornings Light Band x 3 x 20 These helped to loosen me up. Got some blood pumping and hoping my legs will feel much better tomorrow. I am going to do some static stretching for a little bit. Nytric was good again got some serious pumps in my low back after a couple of sets of 20. Had to rest a little longer to let the pump subside a little. good stuff,

Sunday Strongman
Still have some soreness left over in my legs, but was able to loosen up and still get a good amount of work in. Need to get rid of this soreness by Wednesday, another big squat and deadlift session! Log-1 clean and then press 105x2x5 145x2 165x1 195x1 215x1 225 x 4 sets x 2 reps 145x5 viper press I had no leg drive today, quads are sore. I knew I was not going to hit any prs with max weight or reps, so I chose to get in some extra volume. The last two sets felt the best, the viper press is really weird Farmers Walk 160 each hand x 2 sets x 80ft with a turn at 40 ft 250 each hand x 1 set x 80 ft with a turn at 40 ft 250 each hand x 2 sets x 80ft straight run -the competition I am looking at is an 80 ft run with a drop and repick at 40 ft, so I gave that a try today. Felt pretty good, the pick was tough with my soreness. 18" Deadlifts 135x3 225x3 315x2 405x1 315 plus average band x 2 singles Just messing around with these, they will also be part of the competition. I think I could go pretty heavy on them. Sledge Hammer Conditioning Right Side x 10 Left side x 10 Straight over top x 10 -took 10 deep breaths between each and did 3 rounds of this Good session today. I am still pretty sore. Hit some ab wheel after this, I need to make sure I hit abs more often. Goal is to hit the ab wheel 3-4 times a week. tomorrow is bench press.

Monday Bench Press
Felt good today, bench went well. It is much easier to do sets of 3 on 60 seconds rest than it is sets of 5. Legs are a little sore but pretty much feeling better. I tweaked my groin slightly but should be fine for Wednesday. Close Grip Bench 135x8,5 185x3 230x 9 sets x 3 reps 230 x 11 Pretty happy to hit this number after I was fatigued. Next week is my big rep week. DB Rows 80s x 10 120s x 8 150s x 3 x 6 Back was sore from strongman training High Incline DB Press 60s x 10 70s x 10 80s x 10 90s x 9-failed 65s x 12- tired Face Pull 115 x 3 x 20 Band Pushdown Light band x 5 x 20-30 Overall great session, felt very strong on bench. Next week will be the test, I plan to work up to a heavy single and then drop back for my rep work. Tomorrow is going to be an easy conditioning day, legs still need to recover.

Nice benching.
That competition looks fun. There's one of those down my way in March too. At Hampton Colliseum. I'm going to check it out as I have a friend that does strongman and he'll be competing. If it looks like fun, I'm going to work that in later this year and maybe try a meet. Great work JW.
