Will be taking a week of rest now, maybe squats tomorrow first, fits in well with exams and I've been going pretty hard for a while. Not entirely sure where the routine will go after this but the suggestions that Faz has made with benching 3 times a week along with more frequent squat and deadlift variations is what I'm thinking. I'll stop there, sure I'll read this back and think WTF?! Feel free to comment on anything you question from my ramblings.

Great work J. Determined PR on the deads and terrific depth on squats as always. Don't be too downbeat on the bench. We all know it's a pain in the ass lift that can stall for ages if you're not careful. Everything else seems to be moving nicely and you have made bench progress.

Failing is only bad if you don't learn from it. If you're at the bottom it could be a technique thing which overloading will help with. If you can stay tight under supramaximal weights, you'll stay tight under maximal ones too. It could also be strength so keep hammering the assistance work:
- Lots of triceps work (extensions to work the inner tricep) - Lots of upper back work to give you a bigger and stronger platform to push off - Maybe some dumbell benching and crazy pressing (hanging weights from bands) to improve stability All of the above coupled with just lots of benching will definitely help. As ever this is just my take on things and Fazc may have other ideas. There is no right or wrong in this. Keep experimenting and try to learn from everything. You're doing great. LtL |

All good advice by the guys and what I would recommend as well. I generally prefer CGBP for tricep though, but I have traditionally done a crap tonne of upper back work.
