Bench 40kg x 5, 60kg x 4, 80kg x 2, 90kg x 1 100kg x 1 105kg x 1 110kg x 1 115kg x 1 +Reactive Slingshot 120kg x 1 125kg x 1 130kg x 1 135kg x 1 no ass up PB DB Rows 44kg x 10 x 4 44kg x 12 Felt pretty weak today so didn't push into any grinding, I have 4 sessions over the next few weeks to hit maxes. 115 felt heavy although 135 with Slingshot was pretty smooth. Met a guy today who trains strongman, first person I've ever met in there that trains properly. Says a few strong guys train around 5pm in the week so it's tempting to give it a try, would also work better with back-loading.

08/05/12 - Bench Singles
Bench 40kg x 7, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 1, 90kg x 1, 100kg x 1 110kg x 1 115kg x 1 120kg x 1 equal PB 125kg x FFFFFFFFF Shrugs 60kg x 12 110kg x 10 x 4 110kg x 15 Disappointing day, intended to throw the slingshot on at 125 but realised I'd forgotten it. Went for it raw anyway but could only shift it a few inches off chest, disappointing. Eat more and rest up, really need to concentrate on driving the legs and staying tight up on traps. Might alter the run up for the next session to save myself and go 105, 115, 125. I'll see, trying not to spend too much time thinking about the gym as exams start a week tomorrow so I'll take whatever I can.

A month ago, this one was a lot better. It slowed midway but that just reminded me to drive my feet and it went up fine. I need to slow my warm-ups down (not rep tempo; set-up and rest) and really concentrate on getting, but more importantly staying, tight. Still time over the next week and a half to get there.

exams are the focus for now mate , then give that bench a new PR
next time go for 122.5kg first ? |
