Weak tris, strong bench. Sounds like a win JT.

Thanks everyone, ready for another good bench session tomorrow, surprised how well I've been recovering from 4 times a week benching. Not a lot of spare time this week but I hope to spend most of the weekend sat on my ass.

28/04/12 - Bench 10x3

Bench
40kg x 5, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 2

100kg x 3 rep PB x 9
100kg x 5 rep PB

Shrugs
60kg x 10

115kg x 10 x 5
60kg x 40

Followed by shoulder/upper body stretches and band hip flexor stretch to ease lower back.

100kg destroyed, not supposed to push for reps on last set but last day of the volume and wanted to. Big day for me, never been confident with bench and never repped 100.

The past 7 weeks have made a huge difference to my bench, all thanks to Faz, really needed that kick in the arse to put the effort in and it payed off for sure. Biggest surprise is how much of a toll the benching has taken on the lower back. Dying to get back to putting some work in for squats and deads.

Came home for the weekend so it was in garage and got some video.

Thanks LtL. That was my only thought, 140 seemed like a high goal at the start of the year but I'm confident it's within reach now.

Time for a celebratory feast.

Funny you mention this. The big bench efforts at my meets have left my lower back in shambles when it came time to deadlift.

I forgot where your bench was when you started this.

Managed 115kg in January at the meet, bench was making no progress in training though, I really didn't pay it enough attention.

Thanks markievicz .

Mostly resting this week, light bench work, maybe some light deads/squats and lots of stretching and mob etc.. Will have a heavy bench session at the end of the week and then will be shooting for a max raw and slingshot single twice a week for the 2 weeks after. Feeling a little beat up today but that's no surprise.
