Deadlift Overhand Grip 60kg x 5 65kg x 5 80kg x 5 85kg x 5 97.5kg x 5 112.5kg x 10 (6 hook grip, 4 alternate) Goodmornings 42.5kg x 10 (5 sets) Side Bends 24kg x 15,15,15 Dead Holds (both hands supinated) 60kg x 50secs,40secs Ab Rollouts On Knees x 20,20,20,20 Yesterday morning didn't happen, I ended up in bed eating ice cream at 7am, stress does the craziest of things to me. It's not often I miss/postpone workouts and its always because of coursework. I must admit I did quite enjoy going to the gym on a Saturday morning and not having to rush anywhere afterwards, I might have to consider that in the future. It was quite an easy session with it being a lighter week but I thought I'd pull a few extra reps out on deadlift, had plenty left in me. I'm still trying to get used to goodmornings and stick to a solid form but they definitely hit the spot. After the rollouts I feel like I've been in a torture rack right now, I'm going to try from standing again soon, it was a very painful experience last time. |

What style of good morning are you performing...a narrow stance, or more of a squat stance, powerlifting style?

Around squat stance with a slight bend in my knees. Struggled to find much information about different types or whats more beneficial for whatever reasons.

14/11/11 - Bench 3x5
Bench Press Mini band doubled around wrists 40kg x 5 50kg x 5 57.5kg x 3 62.5kg x 5 72.5kg x 5 82.5kg x 5 (No band) Dumbbell Bench 22kg's x 12 24kg's x 12 26kg's x 12 28kg's x 12 30kg's x 11 Neutral Grip Pull-Up (Bench Supersets) BW x 7,7,7,7,5,5,6,6,6,5 Dumbbell Rows 30kg x 12 (5 sets) Tri Pushdown/Facepulls 25 x 20/20 (3 sets) Had a flat tyre on my bike when I went to set off so had to run to the gym so I wasn't out late, that was a horrible start to my day. Bench was easy and assistance felt good, Looking forward to the 5/3/1 wave to get back onto singles. I have also started planning for my next cycle. I have a rough idea of what weights I'll be using for the main and singles providing this cycle goes to plan. But I have to fit it into 3 weeks and after an enjoyable Saturday morning session last week I'm tempted to try the Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday routine. We shall see. |

16/11/11 - Squat 3x5
Squats 50kg x 5 65kg x 5 75kg x 3 85kg x 5 97.5kg x 5 110kg x 5 72.5kg x 10 (5 sets) Hanging Leg Raises 10,10,10,10,10 Everything felt heavy today and I can't get my form right on squats. Got footage of the 3 heaviest sets, not the best angle but hopefully someone can give me some pointers. I can't seem to find a constant form, mainly with stance width and foot angle. I'm thinking of a change of program in the new year with a higher squat frequency and faster progression but I'll think about that closer to the end of December. |

18/11/11 - Push Press 5/3/1
Push Press 25kg x 5 30kg x 5 37.5kg x 3 45kg x 5 52.5kg x 3 57.5kg x 8 PB Wide Grip Pull-Up (Push Press Superset) 6,6,6,6,6,6,6,6 Pendlay Row 57.5kg x 10 52.5kg x 10,10,10 57.5kg x 10 Dips (Aiming for 50 over 5 sets) 17,10,9,7,7 (Just) Barbell Curl/ Rear Laterals 25kg/8kg's x 12/12, 10/12, 10/12 A good day; previous best with 57.5kg was strict military for 5 reps. I was going to stop at 5 but felt strong, even at 8 there was still some left in the tank. I can see a painful weekend ahead of me, worth it though, home for the weekend and won't feel guilty about stuffing my face now. Singles next week on the big 3 and no deadlines so it works out perfect. |
