07/11/11 - Squat 3x3
Squats (Low bar position) 50kg x 5 65kg x 5 77.5kg x 3 90kg x 3 102.5kg x 3 115kg x 3 120kg x 1 130kg x 1 70kg x 10 (5 sets) Hanging Leg Raises 10,10,10,10,10 I started using the low bar position in my last 5/3/1 cycle for my main sets. I am still finding it quite hard to adjust to but decided that I would use the low bar for all of my sets including assistance on this cycle. It's mainly my heavy sets that have been hard to adjust to low bar. Today my assistance sets felt really easy though compared to last cycle with the same weight but high bar. Overall not a bad day but my head was elsewhere. |

08/11/11 - Push Press 3x5
Push Press 25kg x 5 30kg x 5 37.5kg x 3 40kg x 5 45kg x 5 52.5kg x 8 Wide Grip Pull-Up (Push Press and Dips superset) 6,6,6,6,6,6,5,5 Pendlay Row 55kg x 10 (5 sets) Dips bw x 11,11,8,8,9 Barbell Curl/Rear Laterals 25kg/8kg's x 10/12 (3 sets) Not a bad morning. Push press was a new rep max and I had plenty left in me. Dips were strong to start with but my tri's burnt out real quick. Always a good feeling getting a strong start to the day .

just had a read of your log so far , looks like we are BIG fans of the 5/3/1 , i am on my 7th cycle and have also started to introduce the heavy singles into my program.....
some good numbers there so far and a lot of solid work... will be following along closely |

Thanks both, pull-ups are finally getting stronger and the push press is feeling strong now I'm used to it
.Upper body and especially shoulders haven't ached like this in a while, is a good feeling. No singles for this wave so its an easy 3x5 deadlift in the morning. Been a stressful week and yet more too come so I can see it being a short one tomorrow. Hopefully by the end of next week I'll be on top of work and I can prepare for a strong 5/3/1 wave. |
