As for deadstop or touch & go, I do both. Usually on the AMRAP I'll be doing touch & go, at least on the wts that I can get for 10 reps or more. When I get down to the 5/6 range it will be resetting.

Wendler addresses this in the 5/3/1 book....basically he says it doesn't matter as long as you can keep good form.
I missed that in the book, I will need to go back and read that. Today I did touch and go, but did not like the feel. I feel form is better when I reset. In my mind, it also seems to challenge the CNS a little more than touch and go.

i agree. touch and go feels like taking advantage of momentum.

NOTES
Felt good going in today. I was shooting for 10 on the final sets of Floor Presses but I just kept going. FUN!

Squats tomorrow.

Okay, today's question. If you have read my log longer than 2 minutes, you probably know that Bench Press is one of my greatest nemesis. When you bench, how do you set up? Elbows in, out? Shoulders? Little arch, no arch, Lots of arch? Talk to me.

Yay for the DOMS. Body just telling you to work it some more. Good job over all. 16 pullups and 13 chins for 29 total reps is pretty darn good. Bet you can find more people in here who can't do one pullup then you will find who can do 29 total reps.

At one time I could do about 17 in a set.

You've got that right. Not focusing more on pullups is one regret I have.

Default 11/19/2011 Dog House Training

5/3/1 Cycle 2 Week 2 Day 4 Squats

Today was Band Fruit delivery day. I spent two hours this morning loading and unloading 14,000 lbs of fruit into cars. My lower back and legs are feeling it a bit. I did want to get my squats in, so I did. Not into PR range but edging ever nearer.

Squats 5/3/1
5 x 95 wu
5 x 115 wu
3 x 135 wu
3 x 155
3 x 177.5
7 x 200

NOTES
See above for why I only did one exercise. I am trying to follow the schedule as closely as possible. I am working on patience and not pushing ahead. In the process you will note the microloading. I am using microweights purchased from Pace Weights magnetic ½ lb fine-tuning weights for barbells, dumbbells & weight machines These have been one of the best investments I have ever made. I use them at home and Fit For the King.
