Thanks, I felt good about them.
Got in a good upper body session yesterday- Bench press- 135x5 185x5 225x3 245x3 265x2 Single board press (supersetted with wide grip pull ups)- 245x2 245x2 245x2 245x2 245x2 Wide grip pull ups- BWx5 BWx7 BWx6 BWx4+2 partials BWx3+3 partials DB military press (supersetted with rows) 40x15 50x15 60x12 75x5 (I wanted to go with 70's, but for some reason there was only one. *shrug*) 65x8 DB row- 90x15 110x12 Reverse grip BOR- 135x15 135x13 Alternating DB curl- 30x10 30x10 The bench presses were good. There was a padded board laying around the gym from an old piece of equipment that fit perfectly under my hoody that I used for the board presses. Although I've tried board presses before, this is the first time I've really trained them. It was a good experience, and I'm feeling it today.

Thanks for the vibes guys.
Leg day today. I tried some more partial training, and it felt really good. Partial pin squats- (squats started from a dead stop on the pins, set a couple inches above parallel) 135x3 185x5 225x2 225x2 275x2 295x1 315x1 315x1 315x1 Partial pin squats, V2.0*- 335x2 355x1 365x1 *Same thing as above, except I started from the top, let the bar rest on the pins for a few seconds, then finished the lift. I moved the pins up one setting for these so they were about 3/4 squats. The reason I started from the top on these was so I would be in balance once I pushed from the pins. Leg press- 200x30 290x15 380x12 200x20 Glute machine- 60x12 70x12 80x12 90x12 GM's- 45x12 95x12 135x12 155x8 The squats from the pins felt great. I moved 365 fairly easily and wanted to try 385, but as I walked to get water I felt a little tinge in my right hamstring. Normally I would have pushed through, but not when I'm leaving so soon. I'm not taking chances like that. By the time I started the GM's I was pretty far gone. I've only eaten 5 eggs and a little cheese today, but I still felt great while I was doing the session. My hips and glutes feel crazy strong, and I can even feel the new muscle in those spots. Hopefully that new strength serves me well in the different physical tasks I'll have to take on in basic training.

That's excellent work Solider. Pin squats give me fits. I think 315 gave me fits.

I've been on vacation for a week over on the Gulf coast. It was the last vacation with my family for what will probably be a long time, what with my sister living over in California (she flew in for a few days) and my wife and I heading off to wherever the Army sends us.
I have a few more days left before I head off to basic training, so I'm going to train more and make sure I don't lose any strength before I leave. I'm also starting to get nervous, so I need to use the gym as an escape over the next 9 days to keep myself sane. I had a good leg session today. Here's what went down. Wide stance squats- 45x2 135x2 185x2 225x2 275x2 (275 felt really heavy at this point.) 225x2 275x2 225x2 275x2 225x2 275x2 (by this set I was finally really warmed up and felt amazing.) 225x5 By the end 275 was moving with ease and I was taking the squats super deep. Leg press- 200x30 225x30 235x30 I never locked out my legs on the leg presses. The burn was good. I did these with my heals literally touching and my toes out only a few degrees, to really nail the quads in a way that I don't get with squats. Smith machine SLDL- 195x12 195x12 195x12 While I was doing the SLDL's a guy started asking me questions about what I was doing. Soon the topic turned to dead lifting and squating. He said he didn't go down all the way when he squated, but once I taught him to point his toes out and take his knees out over his toes he went down to parallel with no problem. Any time I can convert someone over to the world of deep squating I'm a happy guy.
