Default Fazc's Powerlifting Log


Figured I'd start a new log here as my emphasis has moved back to Powerlifting. My training has gone back to a 4 way split after some 3 years doing Full Body Routines. I'm all healed up, motivated and I'm hoping this year, almost 6 years after my last Meet, I'll be back in full flow competing again.

Goals - Equipped 1 Ply

Squat - 280kg
Bench Press - 220kg
Deadlift - 280kg
Category - 90kg Open

Sunday 2nd October

Sets every minute

Speed Bench /w Slingshot - 110kg + Blue's 8 x 3

Relaxed timing

CGBP /w Slingshot - 140kg x 8, 8, 8

Standing Press - 60kg x 5, 5, 5

DB. Bench Press - 40kg's x 10, 10, 10

Hammer Curl - 15kg's x 10, 10, 10

Standing Abs - 45kg x 10, 10, 10

Solid session, pushed up a higher weight on the CGBP and DB Benches. Everything else was pretty standard. Speed Benches aren't getting any easier!

Yep, definitely equipped now. I can't do much raw without getting injured, so it's either equipped or quit. Only one option there.

Yes buddy! November the 6th there are Meets with BDFPA (WDFPA) and GBPF (IPF) both on the same day near where I live. So it'll be one or the other. I'm not exactly sure how i'll compete, at the moment I could probably Squat with wraps/belt, Bench raw and Deadlift fully suited. But I'll definitely go and compete somehow.

Monday 3rd October

Partial Sumo Deadlift (4 inch elevation) - 220kg x 1 belt/suit down ... 230kg x 1 belt/suit down ... 260kg x 1 belt/suit up ... 270kg x 1 belt/suit up ... 280kg x fail

Arched GM - 170kg x 3, 3, 3

LumberJack Squat - Bar + 20kg x 15, 15, 15

Weighted Chins - BW+20kg x 6, 6, 6

Rear Laterals - 5kg's x 15, 15, 15

Tricep Extensions - 5kg's x 15, 15, 15

Corker of a session, very happy to get 270kg from about 4 inches off the floor. It causes a tremendous amount of pressure on the ribs/torso for whatever reason.

GMs were up, but I reckon I'll do something else next time as I've been at them more than a few weeks now. Perhaps RDLs or the GHR when I get it.

Tried the Lumberjack Squats, yeah they were pretty good but poundage potential is low and I unless I do super high reps I doubt I'll include them for anything other than a convenient finisher.
