First Restart, Week 7 (20), Friday, 2-17-12
I had court out of town on Wednesday and was there all day. So, I had the choice of doing Friday's workout (a prep-type workout for monday) or doing Wednesday's workout on Friday (going for OHP and DL PRs). You shouldn't have to wonder which one I picked. 5 reps Squat 142.50, 177.50, 215, 215 OH Press 108.75, 128.75, 147.50, 162.50 Deadlift 245, 290, 335, 375 Pulldown (3x8) 11, 12, 12 Calf Raise (3x8) 220, 240, 260 Cable Crunch (3x10) 18, 19, 20 New 5rep PB: OH Press 162.50; Deadlift 375. 2 new PBs!! The Press was much harder than I expected. Barely got the last rep. Deadlift at 375 felt easier than 370 or 365. Oh, and chalk = awesome. When chalk is outlawed, only outlaws will have chalk. I'm a Chalk Rebel. |

First Restart, Week 8 (Wk 21), Monday, February 21,2012
5reps Squat 145, 185, 220, 255, 290 Bench 140, 175, 205, 238.75, 255(4) Row 115, 135, 150, 165, 180 Hypers (2x5) 70, 70 Situps (3x10) 45, 55, 60 New 5rep PB: Squat 290; Row 180. Squat--my last rep of 290 had terrible form. It looked like a squat morning. Didn't throw my head back and squeeze my glutes enough. Bench--I'm kicking myself b/c I didn't try for the 5th rep. The 4th rep was tough and I really struggled to lock it out, but I'm pissed that I didn't even try the 5th rep. Rows--still a pathetic weight, 180, but the last 2 reps were very hard. |

180 on rows isn't that bad. Important thing is it's moving. I babied them for far too long.

I'll hit the new 5 rep PB (165) next week. Deadlift:My technique wasn't great. After the really poor form on my last squat rep on Monday, I'm not surprised that my back started to give out after the first rep. Still, 385 is the most I've ever deadlifted before. I have an appointment next wednesday, so I'll miss my workout. Instead, I'll do Wednesday's workout on Friday, to try to hit the new PBs in the DL and OHP. |
