Just a couple of sessions ahoy...
06/03/12 Main Session Bench Press 20x15x2 sets 60x5x2 sets 80x3 100x3x2 sets 115x3 (this definitely seems like a better jump than going from 100 to 120) 130x3 140x1 Slingshot Bench Press 140x3 160x2 170x2 180x2 190x2 200x1+1 spotted rep 205x1 Nice little PB there. Annoyed I missed the 200 double, but the first rep was so easy I had to chuck a little more weight on and go for it. 205kg was a hell of a grinder and my arse came off the bench a little, but I just about managed it. Suh-weet. CGBP off a 3.5" Block 100x5 120x5 130x3 140x3 150x0 140x3 Pretty broken by this point, shouldn't have even tried the 150! CGBP 100x12 Lying Tricep Extension 52.5x10x2 sets 55x8 57.5x5 57.5x6 Going to film these next time I see how my form looks because I'm not 100% sure. Triceps were pretty drained, which I guess is kinda the point, but I guess because it's a stretch reflex based power movement it doesn't have the same effect (in terms of pump, not effectiveness) as doing them strict. Bonus Mini-Session DB Curls 24x8x5 sets 07/03/12 Squat Jumps 20x5x2 sets 60x3x2 sets 100x3x2 sets 120x3x8 sets MUCH better than last week - lowered the weight a little and smashed out some nice triples here. Reckon the shrugs on the Monday really messed me up and made these difficult last time as they felt great today and the bar jumped up off my back during each rep. Only thing I'm worried about is it doing that and landing badly on my back/neck/wrists. But, oh well! ![]() Front Squat Lock-Out 60x5 100x5 140x5 180x3 200x3 210x3 220x3 230x3x5 sets From the same height as last week's lock-outs so only really the top portion, but nonetheless these were great fun and damn tough. Counted the work sets from 200kg upwards so eight in total. And then I moved onto... Squat Lock-Out 180x5 220x5 260x5 280x3 200x3 320x3 330x3 340x3 350x3 365x1 - 800lbs BIG 365x3x3 sets I was going to do some high-rep rows after this, but I was utterly broken by this point so I decided to call it. Really love this session and I think the squat jumps and lock-outs work fantastically well together as complete opposite ends of the squat variation spectrum - light and fast versus heavy as all hell and a grind. Again, with the back squat ones I think my traps being broken last week had something to do with me being weak on them, reckon I've got more weight in the tank (would love to hit 400kg or maybe even 100lbs (455) in the future!), but I'm slightly worried with how much weight the j-hooks can withstand or the rack can hold without being a severe safety hazzard!
