Time for a new log. With my first powerlifting meet behind me, it is time for a new goal. Goal: Drop my bodyweight into the 220s. This will be a death to the old BendTheBar, and a birth of a new BTB. I will be using a Pull, Squat, Press workout structure. Each workout will feature up to 5 exercises: --Pull Exercise. Deadlift, high pulls, power cleans, power snatches, rack pulls, etc. --Squat Exercise. Squat, front squat, goblet squat, zercher squats, etc. --Press Exercise. Bench Press, overhead press, etc. --1-2 Assistance Exercises. Dips, heavy abs, side bends, rows, power shrugs, close grip benches, etc. I will continue with my practice of doing whatever I feel like on any given day.

Very Bill Starr-esque approach, and anything to do with Starr is awesome. (He also had a beard, is it a co-incidence? I think not)
Just do me a favour and take a few days off before you start back. Your enthusiasm will be high right now and although you might not feel it yet; your body will be wrecked from the all encompassing physical and mental fatigue of competition. |
