175x0 - Annoyed because I thought I would make this with something to spare. Got past knees easy enough but the final pull did for me. Upper back strength once again. I'm training my upper back to get stronger but it will just take time. Did decent work otherwise so not too down. Next week I'll do 150,160 + 170 and go from there.

140x3
140x3

Not to worry on the miss, still some decent work either side of that lift.
Plus, you have identified the reason for the miss and more importantly how to fix it

Yeah I know I posted twice! Its harder to edit posts on my phone and im lazy!

Think about your weight jumps as well. You did jumps of 10kgs and then got overexcited and did 15kgs. This is a big thing in deadlift because you don't feel how heavy the weight is before you start the lift. You'll get it next time.

I didn't even consider that as a factor foolishly enough. I had actually planned to do 150, 160, 175 today as I hit 170x2 last week and did not see the 15kg jump as issue. I am often hyped for big lifts but I am trying to get out of that mindset and try to hit them 'normally' if that makes sense. I only saw success with the 175 and possibly underestimated it which is hard to believe as it's only 5kg off my PR

The plan is 150, 160, 170 next week then perhaps 155, 165, 175 the following week if I am successful.

Sometimes that 5kg can get in your head, too -- even when you don't realize it. Either way, wicked strong work Kuyt!!

Thanks Jen, I'll hit it in 2 weeks

Wednesday 6 June
Bench
60x5
72.5x5
77.5x4
82.5x3
87.5x2
92.5x1
97.5x1
102.5(226) x1
82.5x5
82.5x5
72.5x5 - Paused
72.5x5 - Paused
Took a while to get into the rhythm but the 102.5 was butter.

Paused Squat
60x5
75x5
80x5
85x5
So much for squatting once a week!

Pull Ups B/W
4, 4, 4

Strict OHP
45x3
50x3
55 (121) x 5 Might actually be a PR as my strict press is quite crap.

Weighted Dips + 20kg
8, 6, 6 - 20 reps so adding weight next week.

10 mins treadmill - 5.1mph + 3% incline

Nice work buddy.

Surprised not to see a short rant about your hero leaving Liverpool in here somewhere!

Thanks guys.
Dirky was a cult hero for sure but his time has definitely come unfortunately
He is not good enough any more and you need to be ruthless to be successful sometimes. We'll miss Dirk Kuyt and I'll keep this name in honour of his service plus the fact that he scored a hat-trick against the Mancs
