Did 4 x 4 minute run yesterday with 2 min recovery, covered more ground and felt way better than the usual slog. Also did a whopping 2 sets of 36 push ups (one before the run (felt easy) one after (really hard))
Got to the stage now where I can establish if I have reps in the 'tank' so to speak as PR ville will be coming 3-4 weeks after my return from holiday. Week 3 Day 3 Squat 65x5 75x5 85x5 95x5 107.5Kgx5 95 felt tough, 107.5 felt fine and definitely reps in the tank. Still 10kgs away from equalling 5 rep PR BB Rows 40x5 45x5 50x5 55x5 62.5Kgx5 Smooth all the way up, more here for sure, 5kgs from equalling PR. Bench 42.5x5 52.5x5 62.5x5 72.5x5 82.5x5 Probably should have started higher but I was using the low bench for the first time as the other was occupied. Felt good @ 82.5x5 though. Just 5kgs short of equal PR for 5 reps here and lots more to come. Chins B/W: 9,7 Not bad, would have been a PR only a week or 2 ago. Dips =+20kg: 2 x 8* PR Made to work for these, especially since the belt was a pain to attach today ![]() Farmers Walk 35kg dumbbells: 3 x 20 steps (length of gym) might drop weight here and try to do 2 lengths of gym. Abs Decline sit up: +6kgs: 3 x 10 Side bends: 27.5kg dumbbells: 3 x 12 Serratus Crunch: 8kg dumbbells: 3 x 12 |

Did 2 x 7 minutes run at a fast (for me) pace. 2 x 40 push ups yesterday.
Week 4 Day 1 Squat 70x5 90x5 107x5x3 Felt difficult but happy that form is holding up. Third set was probably the best of the 3 which is encouraging. Had to wait for some guy who was curling in the squat rack ![]() Bench 52.5x5 70x5 82.5x5x3 Had to use low bench again. It's great for getting the arch and foot drive, the only minus is the bench is so low, you have to lift the bar out which slightly messes up the form. Still, encouraged by the ease of the bench today and it was surprisingly easy. Certain that a PR will be mine in October. Rows: 42.5.x5 52.5x5 62.5x5x3 Easy sets and equally certain that a massive PR will be mine in October. Pull ups: BW: 7* 5.5: Yessir, another pull PR ![]() Weighted push ups: +20kg: 14*, 11: Very hard but that constitutes a PR also. ![]() Abs: Decline sit ups: +6kg: 3 x 12 Side Bends: 30kg: 3 x 12 Serratus Crunch 9kg dumbbells: 3 x 12 Exhausted after this workout. Took me a few minutes to recover. |
